Mostly what I wanted
I haven't installed this yet, but can attest to the fact that it will shave about 30% off my month electric bill. Electric water heaters are notorious power hogs and I've installed them in my other homes. One unfortunate gripe I have about the item I received is that it is not the one pictured My door does not have access to the the switch as pictured. Timer works the way it's supposed to.

A real money saver in an electric bill.
We had just moved into our new home after both retiring and I'm in the process of updating several things. The timer that I just bought from you is a real blessing. I install a new 40 gallon A. O. Smith hot water tank and then I put a thermal blanket around it as well. Then, with the new timer, I have it set to go off at 10 P.M. and back on at 6 A. M. There is no sense in keeping it on though the night when we are sleeping. So it is off for an 8 hour period daily. It really adds up in the end, and definitely pays for itself with a little time. Easy Mechanical Water Heater Timer Replacement by DIYer
Easy replacement to previous WH40 that had a timer fail after several years. Did not have to replace outer box since the new item fit perfectly in the box from the original WH40. Easy instructions on properly setting on/off tabs. This item has saved on our electricity costs for past years and will continue to do so for years to come. I am an experienced DIYer so was comfortable with turning power off at the breaker and installing at the wiring contact points.
