Gotta Love 4711
This is such a great, unpretentious fragrance. Fully of clean citrus notes, this is a fragrance for the everyday. My Dad loves the aftershave because of the moisturizing benefits. The fragrance doesn't last for the full day, but the softening effects do. 4711 is not expensive and is similar to the old drugstore favorite "Yardley's English Lavender." 4711 was developed in the German town, Cologne, from which we get the name "cologne." I personally love the traditional packaging and label design. I also love the fact that the item was not named after a media personality like so many perfumes/fragrances today. I've been a loyal customer for years and highly recommend 4711.

Need stronger fragrance
I don't think the fragrance is strong enough. I can hardly smell it. It feels good on the skin but once on the skin the fragrance (what there is of it) fades rapidly. I have used Caswell Massey aftershaves and colognes for many years but the company has gone through various changes of products and ownership over the past several years and that has not helped the men's line of products. I now use Pinaud aftershave and like that quite a lot. A great value for the money.

watered down
The color is pale compared to a known original, and the smell is different. The smell is more "flowery," powdery, like old women use between their rolls of fat, and artificial sort of like the bathroom deodorizer my grandma used to use. Fortunately, the smell is weak and dissappears quickly. I ordered two bottles, and one is paler, more watered down, than the other.

The Subtle Influence
This product has a subtle fragrance that lingers for a short time. This is fine with me because I find heavy colognes and aftershaves have an overpowering effect on myself as well as others.
