  • Phenomenal lens with great utility

I look at this as a functional counterpart to the classic Canon 24-105, which as a documentary filmmaker offers substantial range and practicality for most shooting situations. I've been using this on my GH5 with excellent results, for both video and still photography. The fly-by-wire focus is a bit annoying for manual focusing when shooting video (I don't find it to be an issue at all for stills), but I use autofocus often enough to where I don't find it a huge detriment to my work. The lens is well built and feels solid in the hand and on camera, and I basically haven't taken it off my camera since I got it. For those who need the utmost sharpness when shooting at longer focal lengths, they should know that this lens does soften a bit when fully extended, so you should be mindful to shoot a bit more closed down if possible in those situations. It should also be noted that because the aperture almost instantly begins to close down if extending beyond 12mm, I generally consider this to be an f/4.0 glass. If you plan to shoot more regularly in lower light situations, the Panasonic 12-35 f/2.8 may be a better choice. Overall, I'm very happy with this lens, and use it frequently.

  • I found a real bargain with this Lumix 12-60 f/2.8-4 Pro lens

I'm glad I saved some substantial money by buying this lens "pre-owned." The lens seems to be like new. Moreover, it is a well-constructed Pro-quality product that should last for many years and hold its value. Optically stabilized, as most lenses should be, it is usable on both Lumix and Olympus bodies. One advantage it has on Lumix cameras is that at 1080 HD setting, its digital teleconverter can increase the effective focal length by 2.7x (or 1.4 at 4K) with little loss of resolution. Thus the 120mm 35-mm equivalent max focal length becomes a very usable 324mm.

  • Crystal Clear- Super Sharp

Originally I ordered the Lumix 14-140 to go on my GX8 body, the photos were pretty soft and didn't compliment the GX8's sensor. I sent the 14-140mm back and ordered the Leica 12-60mm. I'm glad I did. The build quality is very high. It's night and day sharper then the 14-140mm. Its definitely a premium lens. The zoom range is perfect for a walk around lens for me. I'd recommend to anyone that wants an all around great lens.

  • Versatile good value lens

It is a nice general purpose, versatile lens. I bought it to make a weather-sealed kit along with my Panasonic GH3 since I take a lot of skiing/hiking pics. I am still honing my skills but so far, I took some really professional looking ski pics. For artistic shoots, bokeh effects, low light photography or videos, it is a good idea to complement it with a good quality prime.

  • Versatile.

This lens is perfect for me. It's light, great range, and I use it for most situations, therefore I don't have to change lenses as often. The build is also very good. Happy camper!

  • No brainer for almost the price of Lumix G 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6

Came with v1.0 firmware but updated it to v1.1 on my gx85. Shot many indoor photos and 4K30p videos without flash on New Year's with excellent results. For $350 off, this was a no brainer purchase for almost the price of Lumix G 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6.
