    1g hub

    What's to say about a ethernet hub? It's black, has 8 ports and handles up to 1g. I got it to replace my old 4 port 100m hub. All because I dumped my VZ DSL and switched to the local cable company for an ISP. I upgraded my home network to CAT6 wire and now everything can transfer locally at up to 1g. The cable ISP is still only 5mb to them, but after the modem everything local is now 1g transfer rates. It works that's what is important and it's transparent.

    Its ok, but don't support pass thru

    I like to be able to turn off my wifi. I wanted this hub to plug into my modem and my wifi router to plug into this. I have had this set up for years, but recently I had an isp change which took away my 4 port modem. If I plug my WiFi router into this unit it will not get internet, so now my wifi hub is the master and this is plugged into my wifi router. Its not what I want so I am on the hunt for better box. Because of this limitation I cant recommend this unit.

    Pretty cool device, does what it says...

    The product came in an excellent condition. Package condition is very important to me, specially if the product is an electronic device / fragile product, in this case package was totally right. The only thing that surprised me is that the product does not seem exactly as the picture, it's rather rounded shaped, not squared... just for the record, when you put this specific model in a web browser you will find two or more versions of it, internally they should be the same and have the same features but the look is a little bit different. The TP-LINK ethernet switch comes with its AC adapter. Just removed my old 5-port switch and plugged-and-played the new one, internet was back again in a few seconds.

    Plug and play device

    The pros about the product is the fact is simply a plug and play device. Very easily connected. The con is there is one port that I have to plug in the cable and then wiggle it to get a connection. I have unplugged and plugged back up again 3-4 times and each time I had to wiggle the cable to get it to connect. There is only one port this way. Other than that no complaints. Delivery was excellent. No complaints there at all. The expected delivery date was beat by 3-4 days. Excellent. Gary

    Does what it suppose to effortlessly

    I didn't get the model displayed in the picture from the retailer I bought mine's from, even though they displaced that version 5.1 pic, I got the version 6, with the rounded, softer edges and corners. A bit disappointed as I liked this version pictured here better, but heck it works just as great and does what it suppose to effortlessly. I haven't done any speed or throughput benchmarks on it as yet, but I believe it would live up to it's claims. Lets hope it has years of operation now

    I'm glad I bought it

    I almost did not buy it because that one review said it had a noisy power supply. Mine does not make any noise. I'm getting 249.89 download and 11.94 upload from all ports on this device I am using all 8 ports with at least 3 computers printers, TV , Blu-Ray etc. . I jumped it downstream from my current wireless router using one the 4 ports on that router. I have Comcast Blast, using a Arris 6190 modem . I upgraded my 10/100 to this 10/100/1000. Connection was easy, just plug in the power supple and plug in you cables . I have all 8 full. Actually its 7 because number 1 slot is the up-link. I think for the price this is a great deal.

    Fit a niche caused by att RG

    Installed a ATT Micro cell to my network and needed more ports on my RG added another unit and it didn't work tried this one and everything worked so if you have a att arris rg this may be the best way to add more ports cheaply

    Nice looking and does the job!

    This is a very nice looking Ethernet switch. I chose the plastic model because I didn't want a square boxy switch. Although it is plastic, the quality is very nice. One port is connected to my cable modem. I tested the other 7 ports and I'm getting the same internet speed as I do when connected directly to the modem.
