If you like 60's music, try it, you'll like it.
Not the typical musician's memoir. The fact that the Genovese crime family secretly ran Roulette records gives it a whole new dimension. Tommy James worked directly for Morris Levy who also owned the jazz club Birdland and the Roulette Room. It was very interesting watching the dynamic between them. If Tommy had been with any other label, he would have probably been a one hit wonder. Instead, he had 23 gold singles and 9 gold and platinum albums. He had free rein with Levy, even though he was cheated out of millions of dollars in royalties. They have been working on a movie based on the book.
