I didn't expect this amp to be THIS good!
I was skeptical that such a cheap little amp would be decent, but it is astoundingly good, particularly for such short bread! It has a very lively character with quick transients, yet it isn't especially bright or aggressive. Backgrounds are perfectly quiet too, no hum or hiss. It's doing a wonderful job of driving my Grado SR80i's, I've never heard such full, deep, tight, and textured bass from these cans before. Imaging is excellent as well, with wide separation and vivid depth of field. I am VERY impressed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Beautiful paper weight; I would not recommend or buy another one.
While build quality of the casing seems adequate, the electronics leave a LOT to be desired. Very short almost useless power cord demands an extension cord (money saving tactic I suspect). Having both input and output sockets in the front is a design flaw....who does that??? The annoying squirrel buzz produced by the power connection in the back suggest low quality component usage...needs constant adjustment to prevent from arriving at the ear. Lastly, the hollow bell ringing when the body of the amp or the headphone core is touched is bad business for for uninterrupted listening pleasure. Does it sound good when listening while holding perfectly still...yes, and does it more that double volume to your headphones? Yes. and it also has a warm yet rich sound...yes. But the hassles outweigh the results in my opinion. It's embarrassing when letting others sample...screams CHEAP among all your other expensive gear.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Would have spent twice as much...
The Mini 6J9 is small in size but not in sound! The sound QUALITY is superb as well. Can't imagine why I didn't buy a similar one for $100..would have been worth it. Pretty cool for the money!!!
Sure well made little device, especially for under $50. Vocals sound slightly fuller, and the music is a touch more warm. Not the night and day difference I’d hoped for, but my headphones are pretty efficient B&W P5, so maybe it makes a bigger difference on phones that are harder to drive. Get them both!
Really fantastic out of the box. It produces more than enough power to handle difficult to drive headphones. Dead quiet too. I really like how the user can swap out various components to further modify its sonic footprint. I’ve paired it with the NS-10P to give me even more control over the sound. My home setup is based on a tube preamp and tube amp. I bought this baby to run off my Topping D10 and drive my Sennheiser HD6XX for my office setup. I upgraded the tubes to NOS and changed the two TI OPA2164 opamps into a pair of LM4562. The background is clean and each sound detail comes alive with my setup.
