  • Great product

The product is great. For me, though, I LOVE zoom lenses, and this was my first prime lens I thought I'd give a try. I'm not in love with it yet. So far, I've only taken it on a trip to India. It's not as easy to use as my 24-70, due to having to constantly change settings to get the right subjects in focus. It's been a good challenge for me, but I still prefer zoom lenses for portraits.

  • A great lens for the average photographer

This is a great little lens, compact, sharp and focuses quickly. The only negative is the manual focus ring which isn't ideal as there is no focus scale and it doesn't give great confidence during manual focus. That's not really this lenses forte which I would consider street photography and some indoor work where you don't need a very wide angle of view. It is great value for a "fast" lens on a crop sensor camera. I didn't use the lens much and have since sold it - no issue with the lens - 35mm on a 1.5x crop sensor camera doesn't work for me. If only Nikon did a similar DX lens for 24mm or even 28mm.

  • Great lens for the price.

Takes really good pictures in low light and some smooth bokeh. Build quality is good. Auto focus is fast enough, manual focus works really well but it doesn't have that smooth feel. Do not use for videos with auto focus though, every few seconds it re-focuses and it's loud enough to hear it in the video.

  • Great Entry Level Lens

The Nikon 35mm f1.8G DX lens is a very good introductory lens for budding photographers. Its a versatile sharp, fast prime lens thats great for street, portrait and landscape photography. Very good lens for the price.

  • Must have lens for DX for the price

Key reasons why this is a must have lens for DX for the price: - Affordable 'normal' field of view on DX - Fast f/1.8 aperture - Small and lightweight - Sharpness is very good, even at f/1.8 (within reason given f/1.8 is pretty wide open) Potential negatives: - focusing is not super quick (but still fine for general purpose use) - some might not like the out of focus areas (sometimes described as 'nervous' or 'busy')

  • Very Happy With Purchase

Purchased the 35mm lens for use in product promotional shots and couldnt be happier. Auto focus is a god sent bonus asnd the pics are spectacular. Very happy with the purchase and choice of lens.

  • Small, sharp and cheap

You can't beat a prime lens for sharpness, portability and durability. Nice that a few DX primes have appeared and this is a super-usable focal length at a very good price.

  • Worth every cent spent

This is a must have lens for any Nikon D mount. I have this lens on my nikon d7200 and it works great. the image quality is nice and sharp particularly in a low light situation. 35mm is a perfect length for street foto shooting. it's easy to compose the pics. I love it hahaha :)

  • Perfect First/Only Lens

Great little lens to mimic the equivalent of a 50mm on the crop sensor of a DX camera. Very fast with a good detail on focus field and nice bokeh in the out of focus .

  • The prime lens EVERYONE should own.

Crisp images, great in low light. For me, much more useful size than the 50mm prime.
