    Soundcraft Ui24R

Easy to use right out of the box. I had a little trouble getting my phone to connect but I think that had more to do with my phone than the mixer. Laptop and tablet connected with no problems. I love the interface and features. Everything is built in. No peripheral devices needed! Sound is clean and there is lots of headroom. This is a lot more mixer than I need at this time but for the price I've got lot of room to grow.

  • Top critical review

    Soundcraft Ui24i early review

Works well until the connection to the operator drops, usually in just a couple minutes. Other reviews indicate this was common in Soundcrafts other versions of this mixer. Since my unit is a refurbished unit, I suspect it has an older version wlan radio like those. I have used a wlan extender (a TP Link RE205) with its ethernet port connected to the mixer's copper port to work around the problem. Works much better now. BTW, once the connection drops, the ONLY way to re-establish is to cycle power. In general, its nice and easy to set up someone to control it, just have them use their tablet in the house, but there's something to be said for physical sliders for quick changes.

  • Easy to use little portable mixer with good quality sound

I own a UI 16 and love it, I wanted more channels so I bought the UI 24R. The wireless is a little undependable so I usually use the ethernet hock up to a laptop. The UI mixers are easy to set up on any gig and I do use the two track USB for our sound tracks. The mixer have all the bells and whistles you need like EQ on mic channels , main & Aux sends. Nice compressors. Great reverbs.

  • Great features for the price point!

Great features for the price. The firmware updates have provided lots of flexibility in how you manage all your inputs. I play in a five piece rock band; we decided to go with the UI24R so we'd have enough aux's for everyone's monitor mix. It seems like the Ui24R is a giant leap feature wise over it's smaller siblings. From everything I've read, plan on buying a separate WiFi router. The built in unit is really a hot spot and won't hold up in an electronically dense club environment. Finally, watching the tutorials, particularly those done by Soundcraft especially for the Ui24R is highly encouraged.

  • Well worth the money and the time to learn how to use this.

If you're used to working with DAW's or any kind of other computer based multi-track audio editing software this device isn't too difficult to learn but for someone who is only used to old school analog sound systems where you run a snake and use a physical mixer board it will be a bit of a challenge until they learn the software. With that said this is well worth the money and well worth taking the time to learn how to use it because you will no longer need to run a snake along with a mixing board and a rack of effects so this speeds up the process of setting up and tearing down and this device contains everything you could imagine as far as EQ's, effects along with compressors and gates for each channel along with the ability to use this as a multi-track recorder. In other words, this well worth the money and the time to learn how to use this.

  • SoundCraft UI24R -Greatest Board Ever!!!

After 20 years OUT of the music and Recording business this board was MORE than an impressive find after my return. This board is flat out awesome. It literally is missing NOTHING that I would want for a live show with the exception of being able to edit 'external' effects from front of house but with DAW Software I could probably figure out a way to do that as well. It also functions great as a recording interface either as a stand-alone recorder or when incorporated with a DAW. Performers will love the flexible studio/stage monitoring options available AND the ability to control it themselves,, REMOTELY. I got mine for a great price but even at retail price this board packs in things other boards don't even come close to. You will need some other 'device' with which to control it with but an Acer Touch-Screen monitor and a less than modest laptop has worked great for me to get it broken in with. You can do it without a touch screen as well but a touch screen will bring back that 'touchy' feeling if you miss it with a digital control surface. Or you can just use your Phone to control it. Not a great option but it IS still an option.

  • UI24R - Best for live and studio.

This is the one I have been waiting for. It is great for live sound. Plenty of inputs. Lots of monitor possibilities. The user interface is well laid out. I love the Lexicon reverbs and Digitech modeling on channels 1 and 2. The ability to sling a USB into my Mac and record 32 channels is beyond awesome. I love the fact that what I mix into the UI can record straight into Logic. This mixer has been a long time coming.
