Gentle Leader head collar provides MUCH BETTER control than neck collar or halter!!!
The Gentle Leader head collar is the BEST for walking large, and medium sized dogs to discourage pulling!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!!! FANTASTIC INVENTION!!! Much better than halters! I’ve used HEAD collars on my dogs since I first learned about them back in the 1990’s! Head collars provide MUCH BETTER control over your dog than a neck collar or halter!!! (Halters do spare the dog’s neck but do not prevent them from pulling. Halters are great on toy and very small breeds whose pulling does not cause any arm, neck and back pain for their human.) Since medium and large dogs are much stronger, the HEAD collar is the BEST for training them NOT to pull and to provide better control!! The principle works exactly like leading a horse--by turning their head! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HEAD collar training as the very best!!! And Gentle Leader brand is the best of all head collars that I have used over 20 plus years!!! Unfortunately head collars will not work on flat faced/mashed-in-nose breeds, since the dog has to have sufficient nose for the loop to go over. NOTE FYI--Regarding halters: I use a halter for my dog to PULL me riding the bike! Special leash set up attached to rear bike carrier below bike seat and center of gravity (not handlebars) so that she pulls along beside me (and NO I never let her pull me up hills.) Pulling the bike she gets running exercise she wouldn’t get otherwise since there is no off leash dog park available where we live!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great tool for training
This is awesome for training your puppy. We have used this with our past dogs for training and since we have always had German Shepherd Dog's it is a life changer since I am quite small and can get pulled often until they learn that it doesn't get them anywhere to pull expect away from where they were pulling towards. Big help with a little dog!
Having only used a Gentle Leader on a large dog quite a long time ago, I didn’t think I would need one for my tiny rat terrier puppy. WRONG! Gentle lead
This product is great! I have a 100lb puppy and this work wonderful! I got him use to it slowly with treats. Very easy to control him. My dog comes running when he sees it, she knows it's walk time. I'm a 60 yr old disabled person and have no pulling or running jumping etc. I wouldn't have been able to teach her to walk without this collar. It's the best lead I've used. My one year lab is a heavy puller. I had a very hardtime taking him for walks. I have tried the body leash, prong collar, shock collar etc... nothing worked. Gentle leader works like magic.
