About this product

Product Information

Taking place in 2001 (the future from its original release), the game's touching storyline begins when an Evil Emperor imprisons the inhabitants of Blobolonia. One brave soul by the name of Blob, full name Blobert, escapes his home planet looking for help. He crash-lands on Earth only to find a young boy. Luckily, when the Boy feeds Blobert flavored jellybeans, the blob transforms into various helpful shapes such as the Licorice Ladder, Fruit-Punch Hole and Hummingbird Honey. Using the magical candy and teamwork, the duo sets out to free Blobolonia and vanquish the Evil Emperor as they traverse through the head-scratching, side-scrolling puzzle action that has become legend in the annals of videogame history.

I loved the original game. Like the original, the Wii version never got the press it deserved. The graphics, sounds, and flow are beautiful, fun, and challenging. For nerds, if you want to get 100%, you need skills (bonus levels). What I care about though, is if my kids like it. I have a 5- and 8-year-old who have been playing this for over a month and can't get enough. I am playing it with them, and also love it. It might be more on the 2nd-3rd grade level for basic play (with help, spend time with your kids). But it's in the rare category of games where it is an experience. On a 'Technical' level the puzzles are sometimes hard but beatable without a walkthrough. Once we are done, I want to go through the game again.

  • Expected to be Physics Based but Cute..

Looking forward to playing this very cute and logic based game with the Family together, though I can already see that likely my Tween Sister will want to play this game most often.. We played Max and the Magic Marker bought from the Wii Shop Channel before the Wii U was released.. I think Boy will be most like Max.. Very good choice for logic and thinking skills.. Max was a Family favorite.. so Boy and Blob should be too.. This game is very popular & not easy to get.. Blessings and the best to you, choices, Family and Community.. NurseCherri

  • Magical

You befriend a kind blob, feed it jelly beans that allow it to change shape which you will use to aid you in solving puzzles.
