You cannot beat this Makita 18V hand vacuum.

We don't just like these Makita vacuums ... we love them. We have since bought four to store in handy areas around our sizable house. In use them in the garages and especially out on a large patio daily. Previously, I'd have to bend each day with my bad back to scrape up millipedes, dead lizards, lizard droppings and even worms from our large patio. Also, we'd knock down and kill spiders and their webs from the pool screen enclosure, as my wife has arachnophobia. Not No More! A Makita cordless vacuum stored on our roofed/screened patio makes easy work out of what was previously a dreaded daily chore. Also, my wife uses one daily I bought her to vacuum hair off the master bathroom floor after showering, then drying her hair. We use another inside the house on the tile floor. These are the best cordless hand-vacuums we've used. I have a complete line of Makita 18V cordless Li-Ion tools. I especially appreciate the same 18V Makita-compatible batteries work in the complete line of tools I currently use -- drill driver, flashlights, blower, etc.

Modestl filtration. Passes some sheetrock dust right through.

I have owned one of these vacs for many years. The first one lasted a few years and then the motor/bearings started to make noise, but still performed modestly for another few years of occasional use. The filter set up on these is very modest and mediocre but does good enough for most dirt, but use it for drywall dust, and you get blow-by dust right through and out the exhaust ports! Can't beat that it uses the Makita batteries, so I stick with the brand.

  • Great cordless vacuum, cyclone attachment recommended!

Nice little vacuum, easy to use. The cyclone attachment (option) is in my opinion a necessary addition to keep your filter cleaner, it also helps not to bother you emptying it that many times. With this option included or highly recommended I would have put 5 stars even this is not for carpet but at that price you can't be too demanding ! I like the fact that it works with the same batteries as my Makita tools fleet. The whole family really loves it !

  • "Lightweight with great features"

Takes care of the lighter stuff nicely. Bought it for the heavy dog and cat hair problem over hardwood floors here at home. Does the job if you pay attention to and regularly clean out the various points of clogging. Dont expect massive suction or for it to perform magically on thicker carpeting. Shop vac it ain't. But it is of typical Makita high quality and should hold up for years. I have three, one for my finish carpenter tool van, one for my home, and gave the third to the daughter. I'm also heavy into the Makita 18V battery system in my trade which helps. I keep an extra charger and battery at home for the wife for back up. It helps to buy the small upholstery brush attachment. I dust with it where possible.

  • Super - - Battery Powered Mini Shop/Home Vac!

Given it was made by MAKITA - - it has "trusted" quality. I was very surprised with its SUCKING power. This was a GIFT for my wife. She LOVES IT. As the trite old expression goes - - HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE! Thus if you want to add some "happiness" you might to give serious thought about guying one "as a gift". RECOMMENDATION - - purchase a 5 AH Makita battery -- nothing smaller.

  • Another outstanding product from Makita!

I bought the earlier version of this Makita vacuum 7 years ago. It has performed daily duty picking up the duff/bits/pieces the dogs bring in from our tile floors and short nap carpet. It finally died. The new one is even better! It has better suction and better filtering to keep dust away from the motor. Easy to clean...absolutely. Makita makes outstanding products..... I have a selection of their 18v tools. Will this replace your upright or canister, no. But for daily, or in between upkeep, it is perfect. Keeps the home looking good with minimal effort.

  • Best vacuum of its type out there

I have 3 of these. One I leave outside. One for inside. The third one is for backup. I use it to quickly clean up small messes around the house, spider webs, bugs ... things that would take too much effort if I had to lug out the main vacuum. The big plus is that they're portable and rechargeable. It's not quiet but it is also not loud. For how effective it is, the noise is a fair tradeoff. I've had quiet ones in the past that were quiet because their motors were so tiny and they didn't function as good vacuums. Always, always, always buy the model with the clear canister. You want to be able to see how much debris is in the canister so you know when it's time to empty it.

  • Works great, hope it lasts a long time.

This little vac works great, easy to use and ver efficient. My only reservation is my first one lasted only a couple of years with medium to heavy use. That said, I did purchase another one.

  • I have owned these Makita vacuums for years, I use them around the house and then upgraded to a new model a few years ago. Just purchased this Makita

I have owned these Makita vacuums for years, I use them around the house and then upgraded to a new model a few years ago. Just purchased this Makita vacuum for my shop and I love it. Would recommend anybody with Makita tools. The cyclone attachment helps the Makita filter not get dirty very fast.

  • Great buy, great little machine

This is a very handy vacuum and since I already have Makita tools, the battery was not and added expense for us. We really like the fact that it will quickly vacuum our hardwood floors. The price was right, $20 lower than store pricing for a new machine.
