Good lightweight walk about lens

Why? The lens was wonderful, new I think, but it was throwen in a box with a thin layer of bubble wrap and no other padding. Conseqently, It bonced, and banged around during shipping. The barrel is jamed sideways in the main part of the lens, the trim ring is loose and jamed on the barrel and I haven't been able to remove the lens cap yet because it was jamed tight.
