A loaded New 2DS XL packed with a lot of games for the value!

I admit: I was very very skeptical about buying a pre-modded console from eBay given how some people have been cheated but I went through with it and to my surprise I ended up very happy with my purchase (even though it was loaded with Pokemon and Fire Emblem games I really don't like or care for to be honest but that has nothing to do with the quality of the product). It was definitely a worthy investment too(I think there's instructions to remove games I don't want somewhere) especially if you love Pokemon and Fire Emblem games. If you don't own one, I recommend this one for sure as it comes preloaded with quality games and I'm sure one if them will please you. Also it's loaded with classic games from NES, SNES, DS, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance in a really nice selection of Titles.

New 2DS XL Refurb - Good, with a few issues

The DS I recieved looks and feels brand new, minus the packaging. The stylus was the correct color, and all the buttons and cameras work perfectly. The main issue I ran into is that the majority of my ORIGINAL DS game carts are not recognized at all. A few are recognized if I insert it slowly, but most just don't work. These are 100% working and tested on both a 3DS and an orginal DS. 3DS games work perfectly, however. Some other things worth noting: The top screen wobbles a TON and makes it very difficult to play games that rely on the gyro (tilting DS) controls. I also had a few instances of freezing on the menu screen while switching some DS/3DS carts. (This no longer seems to be a problem though). Overall, it's a good price for a good console. If you're looking for a cheap DS, Nintendo refurbished is the way to go. Just be warned that the 2DS is built cheap(er), and feels cheap(er) than the 3DS.

  • Great little system at a great little price

The New Nintendo 2DS XL is a great budget handheld console. The game/software library for the Nintendo 3DS family is expansive, and that's not even including the support for legacy DS/DSi games. It fits comfortably in your hands. As the name suggests, there's no support for 3D visual effects, but many games started foregoing it later in its lifespan (notable Nintendo titles include Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, WarioWare Gold, and the mainline Pokémon games— outside of battles, anyways), and it helps save battery life. The reduced price of these refurbished consoles makes it even better. Don't let that word scare you off; this thing is basically new. Nintendo warns that you might end up with a console that has a smidge of wear and tear from a former life, but from my experience (and many others'), there's nothing. This thing is as good as new, with a warranty to boot. The only catch I see is the box isn't the same as a retail box, but who cares? Most people throw that out anyways. Now, there are a couple of things that bother me. The stylus is very short. You might want to consider getting a third party one that telescopes. The battery is also not user-replaceable; you'll need to find somebody with Nintendo's trusty tri-wing screwdriver, or send it to Nintendo for a battery swap. (It uses the same battery as the rest of the 3DS family, part number CTR-003, but there's also an obnoxious sticky pad.) At least you don't have to remove the back cover to take out the microSD card though, like the New Nintendo 3DS XL!

  • Exactly what I was expecting if not better

I was a little skeptical shopping for a 2DS XL on eBay but my expectations were exceeded. The 2DS XL was like new when I received and had all of its packaging. There were absolutely no scuffs or scratches on the 2DS XL and it runs perfectly. I've been using it since I received and it's been amazing. I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived the following Monday, much sooner than expected.

  • Good design, easy to keep clean

Lighter than a 3DS but not at all flimsy, still feels sturdy. The speakers being positioned at the bottom rather than the top does not bother me at all (I have small hands. A person with very big hands might accidentally cover them up while playing. But the audio is best experienced with headphones anyways). Wish the stylus was a little longer. Comparing the graphics of the 3DS and 2DS side by side, there isn't much of a difference. The 2DS does not have the 3D feature, but the only game I can think of that actually benefits from that feature is Kid Icarus. It's not a feature you'll miss. I prefer the New 2DS's matte finish over the 3DS's glossy finish; fingerprints and smudges don't show up as easily. I also prefer the New 2DS's button and screen layout over the 3DS's. It's flat and does not have the 3DS's beveled edges around the bottom screen, so there are no nooks and crannies for dust to get trapped in. It's very easy to clean. Games have been running well. Runs both 3DS games and old DS games. As refurbished products should be, everything is clean and in its original packaging. Overall very happy with this. If you're shopping for a New 3DS XL and finding them too pricy, absolutely consider getting a New 2DS XL instead if you don't need the 3D features.

  • Great deal on a DS XL

Unit looks brand new. So...a new unit for a $50 discount. Build quality is excellent also. Screen looks much better than the specs would suggest. Graphics are great. For $100, worth the splurge.

  • I Always Buy With Confidence from Nintendo

I always buy with confidence when I get a product from Nintendo. Their products are always built with quality and just work. It's that simple. If you take care of their devices, they will last indefinitely. They are versatile and fun. The New Nintendo 2DS XL doesn't diappoint. It feels good in the hands. The screen is large and bright. The device handles game software like a champ. I have ZERO complaints. Mine is a refurbished unit and it was literally LIKE NEW out of the box. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this unit and a brand new one.

  • Amazing product!

At first I was worried because it would be a refurbished product, but I was pleasantly surprised that it looked brand new! No scratches or anything on it and everything worked perfectly! Great price and arrived within one week. Would recommend buying! :)

  • Included warranty helps this deal shine

$100 to enter the 3DS family with the most refined product in that family, refurbished with Nintendo's guarantee? It almost sounds too good to be true. It was for me at first; the system looked and felt brand new, but transferring my old 3DS XL content to this New 2DS XL refurb actually froze the system, and then the screens got corrupted. Thank goodness for the warranty; I sent the New 2DS XL in for repair and within a week it was back in my hands. I managed to transfer all of my data and I can play perfectly, no screen issues or anything else to worry about. I don't miss the 3D and I'm sure most people won't either. If you're like me and you have a bunch of 3DS games, the upgrade to the New 2DS XL is worth it, and this refurb is still backed by a one-year warranty to protect you. Well worth it.

  • New 2DS XL works well but has an issue

Received the product but noticed that the bottom screen was flickering so don't know if a ribbon cable is loose within the 2DS or I got a bad screen. Also did not come with a stylist for the bottom screen as well so i had to buy one and the last thing was that the charger came in had some kind of rust on it on the tip of the charger. Overall besides the bottom screen and other small stuff the 2DS works well and does what I want it to do but I will have to figure out what's wrong with the bottom part of the screen though.
