    Good value solution

I bought this for the ergo layout, and it feels great in that regard. The palm rest is also really good, better than expected. I bought this keyboard because of the perceived value, and it has delivered on that front. That being said, here are a few things that I don't like as much: 1. The keys are just a bit mushier than I prefer 2. The Print Screen key is above the = key instead of above the control pad 3. There is a function key between the left Control and Windows key, and I hit it often expecting it to be the Windows key For the price and the comfort, I would still recommend this keyboard. Every keyboard has a few drawbacks, and there is a lot more good than bothersome with this one, especially given the price.

Nice looking but not well designed for high speed touch typists

The Microsoft LXM-00001 is a nice looking keyboard that is similar to my existing PS2/2 Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard (the original version). However, the keys on the new keyboard are not all the same size. I found it difficult to reach the keys in the upper right including the Delete key. I am a fast touch typist so uniform keys are important to me. Someone with large hands or who looks at their fingers while typing will likely enjoy this keyboard. This keyboard is well built so it should last a long time. I plan to donate this keyboard to charity.

  • Great keyboard, somewhat large.

Excellent equipment but not as convenient as the smaller ergonomic keyboard with separate numeric pad, and wireless. My old one started mafunctioning so I purchased this one, an old time favorite which never broke down on me, to replace it until I could find out from Microsoft why the more expensive one failed. I love the current one, and, if my fingers and hands get used to sitting in the right position, I'll just use it for the next few years. Great product, and good for the hands. No carpel tunnel in 20 years of use.

  • best wired ergonomic keyboard

This is the same great quality and comfort I've come to expect from previous generations of Microsoft ergonomic keyboards. The tactile feedback, the sound of the keys as I type and the size of the keys are perfect for me. This wrist rest is SO comfortable as I'm typing this review (with the riser attached on the bottom). The feature keys are among the best of any other Microsoft keyboard I've used. The emoji key is 😎!! After a couple of hours of usage and speed typing, the only complaint I have is the backspace and delete keys are too easy to press simultaneously. Eventually my fingers will be trained to compensate though. I haven't been this happy with a keyboard since the first Sculpt Ergonomic I got. (Sculpt Ergonomic is my all time fav keyboard) I think the wrist pad on this LXM-00001 is even more comfortable than the Sculpt Ergonomic though. I got this to replace a Logitech Wave keyboard that I just could not type well on. I'm definitely hitting backspace a lot less on this LXM-00001.

  • Nice ergonomics overlooked by other ergonomic keyboard makers

This keyboard has 4 features that significantly reduce strain on your wrists and fingers--features that are often missed by other ergo keyboards. All of these features can make typing much more comfortable and help prevent repetitive stress injuries: 1. Angled horizontally: The keyboard is split in half and the halves are separated and angled about 20 degrees apart at the edge closest to you (as if a capital A is lying between the halves). This eliminates most (or all, depending on your size and normal elbow position while typing) of the outward bend of your wrists required for your fingers to properly align with the keys. 2. Angled vertically (tented): The keyboard halves are tilted to be higher in the middle around 10 degrees incline on each side, for a total of around 20 degrees difference between hands. This eliminates most of the need to rotate your right wrist counterclockwise and your left wrist clockwise for your hands to sit flat on the keyboard. 3. Somewhat orthogonal key alignment: Instead of having the keys laid out with a left-hand slant like most keyboards (requiring you to move your pinky finger forward AND left from the A key to reach the Q key), this keyboard has the keys much closer to straight up and down, in line with one another (you can reach forward from the A and hit the Q, without also reaching to the left). 4. Wrist rest: The keyboard has a built-in wrist rest that allows you to rest your palms at 2-3 mm lower than the surface of the keys, which is around the middle of the total key travel. Many ergonomic keyboards have some but not all of these features. Other keyboards that are even more ergonomic have been known to be unusual enough that users require days or weeks to get used to them and be reasonably productive again. The differences on this one are slight enough that there is very little learning curve and it is possible for most people to be quite productive the first day and eventually be even more productive than with other keyboards.

  • Well built keyboard

Well built. Keys are tight at first but wear in quickly to a nice feel.. More quite than the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 version that I've been using for 10 years. Only request is a USB hub on it for wireless mouse easy in a docking situation.

  • Microsoft's best products: keyboards and mice.

Microsoft's keyboards have had an ergonomic focus for decades now. It's my preferred brand. This one I use with a Mac in a USB dock. No problems at all. Very comfortable.

  • Nice and comfy, but cheap keytop indicia

After just a few short months of service, the L, comma, and period keys have lost their white key identification on the keytop. Keyboard works fine and is comfortable to use, but can't Microsoft use decent quality paint or put clear coat or something on to protect the keytops? Pathetic.

  • Ergonomic shape is good for hands but backspace key is not in the right place

Good design for hands position, very relaxed. Tactile feedback is OK, not the best, easy to type. Lots of helper buttons. But backspace key is small and in a different position than the standard keyboard, this one thing ruins it.

  • The old one was better

I bought a new keyboard because I had significant wear on the old one. The design does help alleviate the pain in my wrists. The old design had some separation between the number keys and the Function keys. This model has no separation between the rows and it is way too easy to hit an F key by mistake.
