The Complete Columbia Miles Davis Recordings May Be The Ultimate Jazz Box Set
I have been a Jazz fan for over 40 years, and I listened to a lot of Miles Davis's more traditional earlier work before he signed on with Columbia. But once I got into his music leading up to and including Bitch's Brew, I discovered that his later works are an incredible journey of their own. This box was released in 2009, and at the current selling price, it is well worth the expenditure. There are 70 CDs here covering from 1955 to his last recording in 1985. Miles goes further and further out in his jazz explorations, but I was rarely disappointed in the quality and creativity of his music. His bands included innumerable jazz greats, and this box is a mix of studio and live recordings.
Get this box set while you can at a super low price, and enjoy the look and feel of the CD covers and the extensive hard bound book detailing the history of this music.
