Performs as expected
A great little hend held electric screwdriver. When fully charged it can drive most screws into even oak. However if the battery is low it struggles in hardwood. Works the best in drywall. Do not last very long

B&D cordless driver
Great value for the money. Small yet powerful. Has lock so it can be used as a manule screwdriver. Does not have an adjustable clutch. The reason I cannot give it a five is the location and use of the on off switch. It is on top and a little awakward to reach. A person with small hands may have a problem holding the driver while pressing the switch. Also to change from forward to reverse, the switch has to be moved to a different position. I have seen this type of driver with a rocker switch so it only requires pressing one side or the other for forward or back function. I like the Lithium battery over the old NiCd, etc type battery. The charger plugs into the handle which is good and bad. I like to remove the battery and put in in a charger holder while charging with a light to indicate full charge. This charger does not have a charge/full light. But it was cheaper than buying a replacement NiCd battery for my old driver.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice to have in the tool box
This B&D unit is reliable an can be used in household light to medium size projects and works great. I have had one for over 15 years, this one is for my son at his new house. The fact is you have a unit that has 3 pivotal positions which makes it very handy. The Lithium battery holds a charge for a long time. Many of the newer rechargeable screwdrivers do not have pivotal positions. For super heavy duty jobs an cordless 18 or 20V drill would be more appropriate.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good, but not great.
I have only used this screwdriver twice, so I don't want to be too quick to judge it, but it doesn't seem to have the power of the Black and Decker cordless screwdriver it is replacing. I bought a Black and Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-volt NiCad Cordless Screwdriver in 2005. I used it hundreds of times, before it finally quit taking a charge about 2 weeks ago. KEEP BUILDING TOOL THIS WAY, AND YOU'LL HAVE ME AS A COSTUMER. .
This is the new version of this tool. Higher torque, little bit slower speed, different changer,(which is easier to use).The tool feels like it is made of better plastic. I have no complaints yet.... BUT the older style of this tool would last a couple years at the best. With nominal use..Hoping the feel of extra (slow)torque will make tool last longer.. I buy this over any other electric screwdriver, because of it's size and versatility. i WON'T BUY THE ONE WITH THE LITTLE ( NON REMOVABLE LIGHT) This is my 4th one. Plenty of torque for its size. Lightweight.
I have had and worn out two similar screwdrivers of the same brand and wanted another one as even my small drill is too large for overhead work. I am a senior with arthritis and this driver keeps me from twisting my wrist like a normal screwdriver would. My first project was to re attach a ceiling light that was coming down. The box had broken loose. This Black and Decker driver pulled all the old screws out then affixed new backing for the box then re assembled with new screws. All with little effort on my part. My only complaint is the older screwdrivers had a clip on top to hold another bit. Not quite as convenient as my old Skil driver
This is a nice, compact, rechargeable electric screwdriver... BUT I have used a 3.6 volt Skil rechargeable screwdriver for 15 years and this Black + Decker model comes up a little short in comparison. This model has a "long nose," so it swallows up a short 1/4" bit. The direction and on/off functions are controlled by the same switch. It is impossible to change direction w/o turning the driver on at the same time. Finally, unlike the Skil screwdriver that sits in a charging cradle, the Black + Decker model requires the user to plug and unplug the charging cord.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
