    Totally deaf in one ear.

Had trouble with wax in one ear . Which eventually resulted in total deafness. Repeated use of ear drops ,just the basic extra virgin olive oil type and very very gentle twisting of a damp ear bud did result in some wax extraction and some hearing but not the same as the other ear.Enter stage left LugGards 60mm Ear Syringe.I had continued using the ear drops so as to soften any remaining wax until the syringe showed up .I read the instructions, filled the syringe with warm water and placed one of the four tips on the syringe with a screwing motion ,head over the sink gentle insert the tip so it is pointing to the affected area and with a continuous compression of the syringe emptied the entire contents .I could see bits wax in the sink but nothing of any significance but then discovered a large piece that had not managed to get though the exit holes of the tip but had got itself to the ear outlet.I tried again with an odd extra bit appearing.Hearing now back to such an extent I can hear the mumblings of the characters on the BBC dramas so much better. I was worried about putting water at high pressure into my ear but I need not have been .It was completely painless and you are not really aware of anything at all .The secret is in that quiet brilliant tip which actually has four very tiny holes pointing at different angles to agitate the wax from different directions and then allow the water to flow out of the ear. I would recommend this larger 60 mm Syringe over the 20mm one as it allows a more sustained attack . Amazing piece of kit and can be self operated although a glamorous assistant would not go amiss.

    insufficient wax removal

it is basically a syringe, and does that job. I am not sure why there are 4 different coloured tips. There is a stick with a baffle which is supposed to remove wax without pushing it further in. So far, the whole effort has not worked to remove the wax. I softened it with oil and have tried this product several times with very limited success. However, it has cleared the ear sufficiently to hear, so I am just waiting to see now. No way of checking whether the wax which a nurse told me was blocking the ear drum has actually gone. I havent seen any!

  • Felt safe.

I was rather nervous and sceptical regarding the use of this product, but went ahead and bought one anyway. I had been using eardrops for a few days due to a re occuring blocked ear and on the next occasion, used this item. After using two srynges full of body temperature water, my ear was clear, I also had water everywhere, but not a problem really. It must be noted that this system squirts four very narrow jets of water and is much less violent than the systems I am used to at my doctor's. I did not feal that I had undertaken a dangerous procedure. Two weeks later and all is well.

  • Syringe kit

Was very easy to use with clear instructions. I used olive oil first for a few days and then used this to syringe my ears. Unfortunately it didn't work for me as no wax came out so maybe I didn't use the olive oil drops for long enough or there isn't no wax in my ear and I've just become hard of hearing. Will give it another go and use the drops for longer to see if it makes any difference as I think you're supposed to use drops for at least 7 days before syringing.

  • Efficient and easy to use.

I was very sceptical about this as I had tried the Boots aerosol ear wax removal product which also sprays water into the ear but It didn't work for me. On a recommendation I tried this as the blockage in my ear was causing me pain. What came out was a large flat piece of hard wax matted with small hairs which stopped it breaking up and made it difficult to remove. Next time I trim my ear hairs I will make sure they are all removed. It was going swimming that caused the wax to be squashed into a lump so I now wear ear plug to prevent this.

  • First Class Piece of Kit at very reasonable prices from a variety of suppliers

Since NHS withdrew the option of Ear Irrigation I was left with buying an Ear Bulb and DIY or paying around £50 for Specsavers [or the like] for Micro-suction. I tried the Ear Bulb - for me = useless. It made things worse - possibly I was heavy handed in my frustration of the wax build up making me totally deaf in one ear. I think my over-exuberance probably forced the wax further into my ear. In desperation I bought and tried LugGuards Quad Stream kit - FANTASTIC!. It was gentle, it was effective and the result was almost immediate. Mind you, if you decide to follow my experience, be sure to apply olive oil or similar into your ear for a longish time before using the kit - in my case I oiled for between a week and 10 days. That softens the wax and makes it possible to flush it out. I have no axe to grind; I am just a genuine user and have no connection to the product, or the supplier - except to say I would not hesitate to use the same solution if I get a wax problem in the future.

  • Quad stream ear syringe

This is an excellent piece of kit, the instructions are clear and its easy to use, it took about ten minutes to flush my ear out and i could hear perfect after, please note i did use warm drops of olive oil in my ear to soften the wax prior to use

  • Handy

You must soften your ear wax prior and go gentle when apply the the water. I do think you could use your shower head to get the same results if you follow the same steps. Just this will easier and could use it over the sink a few times aday

  • Works a treat

Really really happy!, after being told by my own GP that they can not sort my ears for a few weeks due to Covid-19 🙄 it made me miserable. Almost total deaf, 3 weeks, ear drops just made it worse at times, very frustrating. Thus was the only gadget that had good feedback and reviews, so had high hopes... And what a relief, used a half pint tumbler of warm water over the sink and worked a treat. Full syringe give it some well don't be scared.... And wow. My house is noisy now, turn tv down, got ceiling fans on, air purifiers on too, everything is loud!!.. Dreading getting in my old van tomorrow, going to sound like the 197500 miles its done!.. But sooooo happy to hear again.

  • AMAZING !!

After 3 weeks of having loss of hearing due to wax and being unable to get an appointment to have it removed i bought this with not much hope of ut working BUT how wrong i was !!! Followed the instructions and just persevere.. it did take at least 10 full syringes of water but but so much wax came out and my hearing was restored. Very happy that it has saved me £50. A good kit with all you will need
