  • Well Made - Commercial Quality

I recently had a pain in my back along with some numbness in my shoulder that my GP thought might be related to a pinched nerve. After a visit to a Neurologist some physical therapy was recommended which included 15 minutes on a traction device\table. This, along with some other exercises and treatments seemed to help alleviate the pain. After an MRI it was determined I have degenerative arthritis in my spine. My neurologist recommended I purchased a traction device to use from home. After some research I decided on the ComforTrac Deluxe Home Cervical Traction Kit 2.0. It was not cheap, but I wanted something that could do the job as well as the commercial one used by my physical therapist and would last a long time. The ComforTrac is a very well made device. The traction part of the device it very solidly made from high grade plastic and aluminum and is easy to adjust to get the proper angles. My routine is to apply pressure\traction for 2-3 minutes then release for 30 seconds and repeat. The hand held pump makes it easy to release and reapply the pressure even from a supine position. The hose that makes this connection from the pump to the slide is very thick too and not some cheap tubing. My only issue with the device so far has been having the air hose from the pump to the device come disconnected underneath, which occurred while putting the device in the carrying case after use. It's just a press on fitting that is on a sharp angle and is sort of in an awkward position so not real easy to reconnect. For now I have just stopped putting it in the carry case since I am using it pretty regularly. I'll probably end up putting some sort of clamp on the connection but for now it's not a big deal. Over the last couple of months I have used it about every other day for 15-20 minutes at the settings recommended by the therapist and it has pretty much alleviated all the pain in my back and the numbness in my shoulder is almost gone too. Overall it does take a little getting used to, but once you get the operation figured out, it is fairly easy to use. There are certainly less expensive devices out there you can get, but considering I will probably need to use this the rest of my life, spending the money to get a high quality device like the ComforTrac Deluxe Home Cervical Traction Kit 2.0. just seemed like money well spent. I am very pleased with the ComforTrac and can recommend it without hesitation.

  • Some Relief

I have had bulging discs in my neck for years and have also gone to physical therapy for years. Traction is one of many things that they have done. I have bought every neck gadget in the book--some work, some don't. My physical therapist told me to stick in the range of 15-25 and we never go over two minutes. I believe the traction machine goes up to 50. I've only had this product for a couple weeks but it seems to work just fine.

  • Stretch it out with ComfortTrac!

Doctor recommended but I had to be patient to find a used one being sold. This device gives me a good, long stretch and that is what I've needed.
