WPS not useful with Linksys EA Max-Stream

Followed directions but could not get "auto connected" to extender after poor range reached on EA9500 (no hand off). Wireless ext networks appeared in available list. Had passwords entered but had to use extender wired to get full benefit. Will use it wired for a couple of days and reevaluate keeping or not. I wanted seamless roaming and with the Linksys EA9500 and WPS I thought I would be good. Not sure but spent 2 hours on it and connection WAS successful on 2.4 and 5g. I could manually connect to ext networks but connection to cell phone was not as good as EA9500 by itself.

    Disappointed

I have a linksys router and although it linked properly it didn’t give me the extension I thought it would. In fact, I assumed it would link to the extension and I noticed my phone, i phone 7 was on LTE I looked at the settings and had to set it to the plug in extension. I would’ve thought it would automatically connect being from the same company with the same technology.

  • Compact and easy to set up

My wife was having difficulty with streaming apps from the other end of our century old house. I plugged this in on the first floor about 25 feet from the Google router in the back of the house. Even though there is a plaster and lath wall, furniture and nick-knacks between them, it is still able to get a solid signal and repeat it to upstairs.

  • Easily Extended Network

Arrived quickly. E-Z install. works extremely well with my Linksys wireless router. Extended the Range better than expected.

  • Great product but not perfect.

The product does what it says it will do. It extended out signal into out backyard. Before placing the RE7000 we were only getting 5 Mbps outside the house, now we get 50 to 100 Mbps. It is not 100% reliable signal, at times it drops out for a few seconds but then it comes back. Overall, I am happy with the product and would purchase it again.

  • Performs Great

Did exactly as advertised. Because my router is also the same brand, the setup was just pressing a button on each. Now I have coverage in the furthest rooms from the location of the router, and the coverage is truly seamless. Very good product.

  • Easy setup, works great, no hiccups so far!

Seems to work great right out of the box with an easy setup. The configuration process even informs you of the quality/strength of the reception from your existing router to this new extender, informing you of "too far", "sweet spot", and "too near" ranges, so you can better "tune" the device's placement around your house during initial setup. I used the option to create two new "extended" SSID WiFi networks, which are identified by using my existing 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSID names and tacking on "_ext" to the end. Easy to setup and seems to work great after a month, so far.

  • Don't waste your money!!

Very slow download speed around 10mb to 30mb. Placed only 15 feet from my EA8300 router and I have 1gigbit connection from fios. The router work better by itself for a 3 floor house. The router is place on the second floor and I get good signal on the 3rd and 1st floor with just the router.

  • Not impressed

This Wi-Fi expander is no where like it clames to be I expected to see more of a diffrence but 3 out of five Ring cameras I have I left them on my regular Wi-Fi, only the two closest to where I pluged in did I see a little diffrence after trying diffrent locations. Not at all impressed I dont realy recomend this product but for the price I’m gona go ahead and keep it .

  • Super Extender

I bought this to feed off my Linksys EA8300 router. Both are MaxStream. Hooked up 1 2 3 and it uses my network on both so my 25+ devices connect to the best signal. My farthest point connects effortlessly. I now have an excellent connection in my backyard and detached garage. I LOVE IT!
