Doesn't do all tools - but does a great job of knives!
Not perfect for outdoor garden-shears (and I am going to work up slowly to my axe) - but excellent for knives! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SHARPENING SCISSORS - it even says that it doesn't do scissors on the backing card. If you want a better than normal and easy way to sharpen your everyday knives (and camping/hunting knives), then I recommend this tool. It IS small and lightweight enough to take along with you, but best to hold the knife firmly clamped (by its spine with blade up) in a bench-vice before you leave. DRAW ALONG THE BLADE USING LIGHT PRESSURE TOWARDS YOU ONLY 6 TIMES Done. Good knife sharpener for the money and easy to use.
Very easy to use, sharpened my blunt knife set including a serrated bread knife to a nice sharp edge, can now cut tomatoes without crushing and splitting them open, bread knife now gives nice clean cuts. This product is an ideal knife sharpener, it is ergonomically designed, with an inherent safety feature included in the hand guard. The sharpening stones can be reversed to prolong the life of the appliance. I have had one for many years and have had to finally replace it as the stones were basically worn out. Forget the kleva stuff, and other gimmicky things, this will be the last sharpener you will ever need. Perfect edges every time, without damaging the blade, and without scratching. I’ve used my original one for more than 15 years professionally. I’m only replacing it now as I gave my old one away to a friend in need of a decent sharpener :) Works better than a $200 diamond sharpener, and the electric ones. Perfect every time. Works as described. Still need to stone your knife just work much much better than a steel. If you have your bevel angle when you stone it more much more acute (say 15°-18°) then the angle used on this tool (im guessing is 22°-28°) you can get that fine edge on the knife for longer with out re-stoning it. Start with harder pressure (if blunt) then very light pressure to the blade, always straight at 90° . There Great!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
