Brand New in Retail Box. Never USED. The box was damaged during transit. Opened the box and confirmed a light damage under the Acoustimass Module Speaker as picture shows, and it won't be seen because it's bottom of the speaker. Again, it's brand new and never used in the original box.

Bose Companion 5 computer speakers
This is old technology in terms of connection to your computer, as blue tooth connection is all the rage. This speaker connects via USB. The most important feature is excellent sound. If you are looking for desktop computer speakers, you can't go wrong with this model. However, new speakers are wireless, and that is the way to go. Simple to use and good quality
If you are looking for old school speakers, this is the way to get excellent Bose sound quality at a good price. I was just looking for something to plug into my computer or the TV and this is so easy to use. I really like the control pod to be able to easily adjust the volume or mute it. We had previously tried the companion 3, which seemed to heat up quite a bit; the companion 5 stays cool. The only thing is that the control pod stopped working and needed to be "reset" by unplugging the power and cables. It worked fine after. Bose speakers
I have looked at the Bose for a while before buying. I'm not sorry that I invested in this setup. It is a neat clean setup , satellite speakers a classy looking and not in the way or look out of place. But the sound is rich and full the detail is very good and you can get the 5.1 realism with out being surrounded with speakers. the control is simple and easy and a good set of headphones or ear buds give a good quality sound . Separate base control puts speaker set over the top.
I purchased this product for a client of mine who is severely hearing impaired. They needed a system with a separate base control. As I already use this speaker system on my own computer, I knew it would meet her needs. My client is very happy with this product and so am I. Solid desk top speaker system
Replacing the now defunct Corsair k2500 2.1 Setup . I found the Bose system has a more complete tonal range, not as powerful as the 230 watt corsair the Bose set delivers room filling sound in a reproduced 5.1 sound from 2.1 system. Plug and play ready via USB which will make it difficult to run through most sound cards if that's your thing. Great Clear Sound and Big Bottom End
I'm a musician and use a Bose L1 line array to play out. I have a Bose Companion 3 set on my desk. I even have a Bose stereo in my car. When I needed a sound system for the computer in my music shop, Bose was the likely pick. The Companion 5 speaker set is fantastic. Clear, clean highs and midrange. Tight deep bass. Great Bose sound at a discount price.
As usual Bose delivers excellent sound quality and this set makes a huge difference in your listening experience. If you don't mind dealing with a few wires, these older Bose units give you great bang for your buck. I liked these well enough to buy 3 sets and adapt 2 sets to work with my Televisions. Good sound but basey
I have an older model in my shop. I got these for my wife's computer. Like most things Bose, they're heavy on the base. The base control knob is poorly placed at the back of the subwoofer. it would be better to have control on the front for easy access. I really like the on/off volume control. It's super easy to use and adjust. What would really set this apart would be a base, midrange, treble balance. Is there software available from Bose for a laptop? In all, it's very good sound and if you're a base-aholic, it's just the thing Oh, it's easy to add a bluetooth control to the on/off volume control.
