A GREAT SIMPLIFIED DETECTOR.
For a few years I have used a Garrett Pro which I liked for treasure hunting the beaches of Florida. Had to spend time balancing and adjusting for the mineral content in the salt water sand, but once dialed in it did a good job. However when I go to gold country it falls a bit short. I received the Gold Monster 1000 for Christmas, tested it in the yard (burying nuggets, coins, shot shell, aluminum etc) and it worked flawlessly. I like the self balancing, the eliminating system items I do not want to dig and the ability to move the detector off an item I did not want eliminated (coin or nugget) and it will immediately pick them up again. Gold Monster 1000
I purchased the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 very recently and tried it out. The first thing I noticed was no owners manual,just a couple of pamphlets in a multitude of languages and not real easy to follow as the English version is mixed with Arabic. I assembled the unit and noticed right away the rod or shaft for the unit is a three piece non adjustable rod so once assembled I had about a foot hanging out the end from where the arm rest ended. The rods are all the same length so no way of putting a shorter one in to accommodate the proper placement of the arm rest and screen. The unit itself performed very good in the highly mineralized soil I was searching in but was cumbersome due to the foot of rod hanging out the back. The unit is good for finding small gold pieces but again trying to prospect with a long non-adjustable main rod shortened my use of the Gold Monster 1000.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
