Combining real-life boxers from different eras with an arcade-style fighting system, Knockout Kings 2003 for GameCube offers an enhanced 3D engine used in Knockout Kings 2002. While the list of boxers and modes remain the same as its Xbox and PS2 predecessors, Knockout Kings 2003 includes a number of different features to make the title more action-oriented. The 15 featured pros include Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Robinson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, and cover-star Muhammad Ali.<br><br>Among the new additions are onscreen cues showing the results of throwing different punches as a special damage meter gradually powers-up to three distinct levels. The more special punches are thrown, the more damage a boxer can unleash as the fight progresses. Various points are also earned for each block, landed punch, knockdown, or for fastest knockouts. Players can fight in traditional timed rounds or unlimited time as broadcasters Larry Michael and Max Kellerman give the blow-by-blow details from ringside. <br><br>Players can once again embark on a Career Mode against a series of 15 opponents divided among three weight classes: lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. Ten venues (up from eight in the previous version) are available to fight in one of three modes of play: Exhibition, Tournament, and Career. Players can also create their own boxer using a selection of nine different face types and ratings in the areas of power, speed, stamina, chin, cuts, and heart.Product Identifiers
