A lot of bang for the buck!
I have many Samsung products: a Blu-ray player, a TV and a Galaxy S4 cell phone in addition to the DVD-C500. This DVD player upscales [upconverts] the image via the HDMI digital output which improves the video quality compared to the analog outputs. This player has component and composite video outputs in addition to the HDMI output which makes it possible to connect it to any TV. The reason I rated this player 4 instead of 5 stars is because the audio drops out on the chapter markers via the HDMI output, but that does not happen via the analog audio output. I've purchased 2 of these players thus far, 1 for a friend, and will be purchasing another one soon for another friend. Does not have any apps available such as Netflix, Amazon, etc. You will need a second DVD player in order to get these apps available to you. Love the remote control and functions
After installing this unit, you literally never have to touch the DVD player because the remote control has all functions on it, including eject. The digital display is at a decent brightness and good color, green, as not to be distracting. Also, I searched this unit out because the remote control will control Samsung brand TV's, which is what I have, along with my mother.
