Product Information

For a high performance flash designed to make good photography easy and great photography attainable, the Nikon Speedlight SB 700 is an outstanding option. The Nikon Shoe Mount Flash is an on-camera flash that is mounted onto the top of the camera in a bracket called a hot shoe. This shoe lets the flash sit tightly on the camera for accuracy while also keeping the flash steady and safe. The flash is highly versatile and utilizes Speedlight for optimal lighting creativity. Positioning of the flash head allows for freedom of movement with a 360-degree light rotation. The Nikon Speedlight SB 700 also comes with a thermal detection system that prevents overheating. Three different distribution patterns of light are possible with this on-camera flash. These patterns allow for options in portraits and group shots as well as general lighting; color filtration is also excellent. The Nikon Shoe Mount Flash can also be dismounted from the shoe and used as a remote for photos that might need different lighting effects. Combining these features with a good metering system, and a powerful zoom, make the Nikon Speedlight SB 700 a definite plus for taking great photos.

Great Companion to a D750
Perfect companion to my Nikon D750. I already have a Nikon SB-600 flash and only use it off the camera in remote mode, usually bouncing it into a cheap umbrella. always works great and wanted another, plus an upgrade. Right off the bat this 700 is easier to set up as a remote then the 600 with just the turn of a switch (the 600 is a bit complicated to set up) Recycling times are faster then the 600. Like the 600, this works flawlessly as a remote with the camera set to command mode. There is no reason to go with an off-brand because these Nikon flashes are powerful and work in perfect harmony with my Nikon camera. exposures are spot-on. So perfect and easy to use you'll want 2 or 3.

Need to understand features to be effected
I received the SB700 flash a couple of days before a back to back wedding and birthday shoot a week apart. I was able to read enough in the manual (purchased separately) to get satisfactory results. Looking forward to working more with the flash and getting great photos.

Ditch those cheap flashes and get a real flash, it's well worth it.
I know that it is so easy to try and save money and buy one of those cheaper off brand flashes. I know, because I did it. I figured a flash is a flash, it's just light! But there is a big difference, especially once you start getting serious with your photography. I currently use a D810, and was using some off brand flash with it. It worked but my images weren't perfect. I finally broke down and bought a real flash, one that's compatible with my Nikon D810. I bought the SB-700. And I have to tell you, that I kick myself in the a$$ for not buying this thing sooner. Not only is it perfectly compatible with my Nikon camera, but it is very precise! My images are so much better, the exposures are perfect. If you spent the money on a high end Nikon camera, don't cheap out on the flash!

Love this flash!!!!
I am relatively new to photography and was using a cheaper flash unit. I thought I was doing well with it until I bought this one. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!! You can never go cheap on these kind of things. This flash yields much better control of the amount of light every time. Plus the colors come out much better than the cheaper flashes on the market. I highly recommend this product.

Easy fix, need Y000 screwdriver
This was an easy fix, once I got a set of Y screwdrivers, good thing I got a set, the smallest one (Y000) was the one that fit. Only 4 screws and 1 plug. Be careful, there is a small plastic plate that fell off and I had to take it apart again to put it back. Be careful with the screws, they are very small and easy to loose! Too bad Nikon did not make this "high stress" part out of something stronger than plastic!
