Perfect fit replacement

I just got it hooked up and broken it today. So far so good! Perfect match for the old one. No modifications needed to install. I followed the breakin procedure and have used it for a couple of months now in intermittent home use (not commercial) It has worked great and the oil level has not decreased one bit.Read full review

Seems to be working fine

The compressor seems to be working fine. The pulley on my old CH compressor pump took a different type of belt but I had the old pulley from it to use. Also the manual said it was shipped without oil but when I put in the approximate amount it was very over filled, so I drained it and put the measured amount into the compressor. Also the sight glass to check the oil level is basicly impossible to use. The old compressor had two fittings on the head for output and pressure shut off and the new one had only output so I had to install a "T" fitting and re-route some plumbing. These are minor inconveniences and if it holds up I will be happy with the pump. If you buy one don't necessarily expect to "just drop in" the new pump.Read full review

A good drop in replacement for a broken or worn out pump.

I don't know what makes these pumps a one, two, or three H.P. pump. Honestly my 14 year old pump had nearly the same recovery rate as this brand new one. Maybe I was expecting too much. My old CH made in USA pump failed only because I let the oil level go down, and it broke a rod.
What I do like about this pump is the sight glass oil level indicator. I still have a gripe about the too small oil drain hole, a half inch would be much better in my opinion. The other problem is that the air cleaner is way too restrictive due to it's small opening. I just replaced it with my own adapted VW oil bath air cleaner. The crankcase breather/oil fill is a nice improvement over my old pump.
This pump was a direct drop-in and all my plumbing just bolted right in with no modifications what-so-ever.Read full review
