Drifting in the Wind like all of us!

This was an excellent story about how people dealed with hardships regardless of the time period they lived in. All the characters played their roles to perfection. Unfortunately Shirley Douglas and Kathy Greenwood weren't included in this Christmas Special. But the remaining characters played their roles to perfection thus making the loss of these two extremely talented actresses tolerably. I guess all in all this particular segment of Wind at My Back can show people how the events that take place in faraway lands can and sometimes do effect each and every one of us. The guest stars were fitted nicely into the storyline line and all in all this film rated high on my list of Canadian films I like. This film may not be everybody cup of tea I agree. The two main characters that didn't show up would have really helped this Christmas Special out big time. But based on what the producers had to work with. The remaining actors and actresses did a better job and a far more professional job than I have seen from other Canadian movies. But all in the Sullivan production crew and hold their heads high against any other production crew found anywhere in the world. That being said is enough reason for anybody to check out this film. The Baily family surviving the depression lead by a strong, single minded matriarc.h

We love the Wind at my back series but it just suddenly stops with everything up in the air. I looked it up and found that the Christmas episode brings it all to a close but it was not air. We haven't watched it yet because we are waiting to go through the on all the aired episodes again. Thank you for having this available at a reasonable price.

Honestly, I LOVED IT!!!

Honestly, I LOVED it, but just wished there were a down-the-road sequel to see if Hub and Anna ever did reunite after having declared their love to one another. I looked it up, and actually this is THE LAST of the series, but I would definitely have bought a sequel if there were one. It's a very good family oriented show that shows the "trials' of some groups, especially the Jews right before WW2 erupted. Read full review

The movie does the series no justice

The mkvie was made to tie up any loose ends but it doesnt do thst for me. I was highly disappointed in how the story jumps around so much and the story is more focused on the outside world instead of New Bedford. The series only ever mentions the outside world. Left a Lot NOT Summed Up!

I love the entire Wind at My Back series. It's my favorite after Downton Abbey! I was excited about the Christmas DVD because I read it was supposed to bring closure to all the characters and wrap everything up. But there was still a lot that was not closed! Two of the main characters were not even in this movie. They were, however, mentioned with one sentence. So I was disappointed, but still loved it, like all of them.Read full review
