No Real difference

This short review basically states that I bought the Arris sb 8200 as an upgrade. No difference in internet speed and I have the same lags as before. Comcast did all they could on theyre end. So I guess fancy marketing has struck again. Good for piece of mind knowing you got the latest. That's about it. Virtually the same performance as the older ones. Just the inflated numbers are different. Buy one and make sure its returnable. Youll see.Read full review

Works well 98% of the time.

The install was pretty easy and it was significantly faster than the gateway it replaced. But I've had a problem with it occasionally dropping the internet connection. It immediately reboots and comes back, but the problem is annoying. I was on a chat with Arris and made some changes and the problem lessened, but didn't totally go away.Read full review

So I connected this new modem and connected my router to it thinking I would get the same speeds as I did with Comcast modem but it dropped by 400 or so. Everything seemed to work fine but just didn't like the drop in speed from the router. Other than that this is great modem router but wanted it to do more than I thought it would.Read full review

Cannot get the second port to work, despite contacting Arris and my internet provider. UPDATE: The second Gigabit port WILL NOT WORK through Comcast. They have shut it off. So don't buy this unit because of the second port. It's useless.Read full review

Ready for the future

I cut off my voice package and I upgraded from an older Arris modem w/voice. I was maxing out at 170-180 Mbps for download speed with my old one. After upgrading, now I'm maxing out at 230-235. I'm sure if I upgrade my package it would perform well. No regrets buying this one. Also, the set up was easy peasy with Comcast.Read full review
