Win 8 system - positive results.

Works great, and really gets the distant signals.
Does require installing the CD (included), plugging in the USB cable and allowing the OS to find the driver on its own (takes a little time), then rebooting once.
Found also that by turning off the internal WIFI, operation of the ALFA is seamless and fast for the subsequent uses.Read full review

Alfa AWUSO36NH is a BUST!!!

GREATLY over-rated AND overpriced to boot. I have a 7 dollar Netis WF2111 that puts this crappy Alfa to shame. The Alfa comes standard with a 5dbi removable antenna, please! This Alfa is advertised as a LONG-RANGE usb adapter and its standard antenna is a mere 5dbi- it should be at least 9dbi for the amount of money that they soaked the ebay customers for this over-rated adapter. And the Alfa is a SINGLE BAND adapter not a dual as it should be for this kind of money. Avoid Alfa products they SUCK!!! and don't perform as advertised. Alfa LIES,LIES,LIES!!!!Read full review

This unit seems to be very powerful in that it pulls in many more wifi hot spots then a regular card in a laptop or tablet. I have not found a problem with it at all. If you're wondering... YES this is a great Wifi adapter

You can read endless reviews about every conceivable thing out there, and get more confused than when you started...

I have an older windows 7 notebook, and was staying at an RV park 4-5 years ago & couldn't find their Wifi... I got this alfa 36 antenna and suddenly all these other networks were there, even strong ones that didn't even show up on my built in wifi. Maybe newer frequencies that my old notebook didn't support?

Then, my friends upgraded the Wifi in their gallery, and I could no longer log on. I plugged this antenna in and there was the new network.

It also works great for extending the range that you can connect to wifi. I would use it when I was traveling, pull into a fast food parking lot & easily connect from my car, no need to go inside.

So Yes, this is a great little antenna. I have gone through a few over the last 4-5 years or so, they don't last forever, but I read lots of reviews and finally come back to this one, and I am always happy that I did.

work awesome full wifi bars, but added a better antenna i have

my laptop was at 1/2 bars in the same room as my router, I use this a get 100% DB, I have a "WiFi yagi antenna" I I added that I can rotate to get directional boost, I use "acrylic wi-fi" so see the single go for bad to good. this WiFi is very high quality and is working grate I would not be able to get on the WiFi at all with out it and the antenna. I did not get this for high speed, so would say it not faster also not slower, but loss of single the speed will drop so at range I get same room speeds.Read full review

Awesome Adapter

Great reception on my laptop. It's a small package but works great for sitting outside the library and increasing the reception. The small antenna is very strong at 5dbi. I purchased another 20dbi antenna thinking that my reception was going to double and it did not. The 5dbi was in some cases better that the 20dbi. I am now just using the one that came with the adapter. Also pulls in great reception from my router on the far side of my home. Very Happy.Read full review

Wifi extender

If you are plagued with weak wifi signal this devise will correct the problem. Don't recommend using the cd to load program. Best to just connect to your usb and let your computer handle it. This is a great product. I have two of them, one is about 9 years and still works like new.Read full review
