Amazing unit

The Alpine iLX-W650 was a breeze to install, and the sound is nothing short of amazing! I paired this unit with Alpine's KTA-450 400-watt amp. Both the amp and the head unit combined have a smaller footprint than the JVC unit I replaced. For the first time since I bought my vehicle, I feel like my head unit/amp sounds superior to the stock factory radio. I love using Android Auto for navigation.

The main "gotcha" that I discovered is the way Alpine protects its setup features. To go into the setup, link a new phone with bluetooth, or access just about any of the other settings-based features, I have to 1) place my vehicle into park, 2) set my emergency parking brake, 3) release my emergency parking brake, and 4) set my emergency parking brake again. Great system

This item was supper excellent. Met its purpose. The quality is great. However, I had some trouble, getting the extra fixtures to work. My android smart phone could not detect the fixtures like maps, the Bluetooth, and USB apps. But still a great stereo system. I would purchase againg if not to complicated to set up.Read full review

Impresive

I love my Alpine. I’ve had Alpine products for quite some time. You can’t go wrong with there quality. I bought the iLX-W650 for a main reason, it has time alignment. A lot of quality head units don’t have the time alignment as I have searched online. Also the car play is amazing. However the stock amp isn’t up to the task of driving my Boston Acoustics 5.25 Component speakers, so eventually that will be done at a later time. Solid stereo!

The Alpine iLX-W650 is a nice Double DIN replacement. I replaced in a 03 Dodge RAM and worked out very nicely.

Not the seller's fault; however, the Alpine Car Play is definitely finicky with our iPhones when connected.
1. If we get out of cell reach, CarPlay stops until we stop and start the truck.
2. Alpines Bluetooth does allow CarPlay. But already knew this when purchasing.

Overall, nice stereo and sound is much better quality than the stereo that came with it.Read full review

Excellent Product

Great product !! The parking brake and not being able to change the background screen is the only issues I have with the radio.

Good entry level system.

Moderately simple to wire up. Get a vehicle adapter harness (sold separately) to make things easier. Backup camera can be a bit fuzzy at times. Apple carplay works great!
