These little pucks are great! Impressive sound and even more so when you have four of them! I can give Alexa a command to play music and it comes through loud and clear on two of them with a stereo effect. I can also tell Alexa to play "everywhere" and I get all four putting out rich dynamic sound the covers the majority of downstairs. Unable to connect to internet

I tried, my daughter tried, I read umpteen how tos and tried. It simply would not connect. I’d had others I bought new that worked flawlessly. I gave them to my daughter and they worked for her. I ended up trading it in on Amazon for a newer brand new one. I would caution about buying one of these used for that reason. Read full review

Nice, simple and easy to use voice assistant.

For an easy to use assistant for daily informational needs the Echo Dot is an excellent value. You can use as an emergency call device to make a life saving call. Need to know the weather, time, calendar entries, reminders and the list goes on. It has excellent voice recognition. Read full review

Best Gift I've ever Purchased

I got this as a gift for my Mom. She liked how I was able to ask my Alexa how to spell words; or find zip codes to addresses; and tell Alexa to turn down to another level when she was too loud. And she liked how you could ask her to play any station she desired. Now she has her own. And it didn't burn my pocket book. I was able to give her a great quality gift for the first time. And the best thing is, it arrived on her Birthday. It was suppose to arrive 6 days after her birthday. And I would have been saying Happy Birthday Mom your gifts in the mail. Tell me that wasn't kismet. Right on time. With it's new updates, it looked better than my Alexa. I maybe getting myself a new one soon.Read full review

Great for some things. Not so good on others.

Ez to use and ez to connect. I now have 2 one for the bedroom and one for the main living areas. Love being able to get my news and weather in the morning with my coffee and after listening to my music. Drawback is sometimes she doesn't understand what you are asking and have to remember first to say her name and if operating another device the name for it. Does not operate well with fire tv at least i can't figure out a way to make it work like i want it to. Will only turn it on and off sometimes and might if you feel lucky work for volume. 89-year-old Mom LOVES it!

Talk about fun! This was so easy to set-up and use. I bought this for my 89-year-old mother who lives alone and refuses to learn how to use a computer. It took a little while to get her comfortable with it, but now she can ask it for the day, time of day, day of the week, etc. She loves music and can quickly get to a station with all her favorite genres. The sound quality is astounding for the size of it. The only downside I found is that all smart switches for lights and so on have to be 2.4 GHz. Her WIFI is 5 GHz. so none of them will work. I guess that's not really a negative for this device, just the manufacturers of smart add-ons.Read full review

It's a little hard to hear in large rooms

We have a gen 2 and gen 3. The gen 2 which does not work well for playing music is easier to understand in large rooms. The gen 3 is way better for playing music but is difficult to hear in large rooms. You can fine tune the EQ settings to get a better sound however, it will be at the sacrifice of good EQ for music. It would be nice if there was a way to program this dot to use different EQ settings for music than for voice control. Other than that it works great. The commands are processed quickly and the speaker is way better for music playback than the gen 2.Read full review

Very helpful but setup was a hassle

First things first, if you guy it of eBay chances are that it is registered to the person who u bought it from's account. When you order, have them de-register it.

Now unto the review. Its an awesome gadget to have and it works as advertised.

Awesome Abilities and Sound

GREAT DEVICE FOR THE ELDERLY - MOBILITY IMPAIRED - VISION IMPAIRED
I have found so many things this device can do. I purchased a set of 4 Jeeo Smart Plugs and Alexa can control them. I have a light on one. Motion Detectors on one. Doors sensors on one and haven't decided what to use the 4th one for.
I changed my "Wake Name" to "COMPUTER" because the only options are Alexa, Echo, Computer and Amazon. To me Computer seems much more personal and non-branded.
It is AMAZING what this thing can do. Play music, set alarms, guard house, tell jokes, tell weather, play games, read audio books, the list goes on and on.
Another reviewer stated Alexa automatically imported their phones contact list. That is NOT true. You need to pay attention to the setup process. I did not allow my phone to be connected to Alexa and it did not do it.
And IF you accidently do you just go to the Device Setting and remove them and turn off the feature.
This Device has GREAT BASS for the size. I was really skeptical with the YouTube reviews but I am really pleased with the sound. And connecting it to my cheap 40.00 Bluetooth surround sound was a breeze.
I am finding new things daily to do with this device and am looking forward to what is to come with them.Read full review
