OEM Amazon Leather Cover Case w/ Light for Kindle Keyboard 3 3rd Generation

Oldie but goodie

These are not in production anymore, but I bought one from a reseller for about $30. My old one got dropped and the little metal clip/conductor broke off. 3 things about this cover are great:
1) The light runs off the kindle device, not a battery in the cover. When you recharge the kindle the light runs off the same charge, lasts a long time. 2) the light tucks away in the corner of the cover, but when in use shines on the screen from a few inches above via a little pull out extending arm (not a backlit screen). 3) You can stand the thing up on it side like a tent when you are lying on your side reading, so you don't have to hold it. Other things I like are understated folio style, elastic band closure, durable and protective aspects of the design. I was happy to find a used one in good shape. my second one

this is my second cover, i wore out the first one, which i used since 2012. i was so glad to see they're still for sale! i'm sure this cover is why my old kindle is in such great shape. it's handy, gives enough light, fits in my purse easily, holds the kindle very nicely when i read in bed while lying on my right side. and my cat likes that it's so strong, so she can park her chin on it and watch me while i read.Read full review

broken light on kindle case...no problem

This is a very high quality kindle case that was really easy to fix the light contact with a paper clip and velcro pads to hold the kindle. Great bargain for me and a lighted case for my kindle.

Greatest Deal of the Year.

The cover was advertised as broken, buy for parts. The fault was a broken sider latch that secures the Kindle. I took a chance that I could repair it. So far, it's looking good and the cover is otherwise in like new condition. The broken latch looks like plastic, but it is in fact made of brass, so soldering is do-able.
