The Apple Trackpad adds functionality and is easy to use.

One caution I can share is that two (2) major settings must be made for Trackpad to work properly.
1 - Under “System Preferences”, select “Trackpad” then add some features.
2 - Under “System Preferences” select “Accessibility” select “Mouse & Trackpad”, then activate “Trackpad Options”.Read full review

So much better than a mouse.

I've been using a Trackpad as long as I've had an iMac. I upgraded to the Magic Trackpad 2 a few years ago, and I ordered this one when I found that my original one didn't seem to be recharging. While waiting for my new one, it is now charging, so I haven't unwrapped my new one, yet. Bad cord? As long as I was asked to review my new one, I decided to just give a review of my older one. I LOVE the trackpads. In the couple of days that I was using my Magic Mouse, it reinforced my dislike of using a mouse. It's a pain in the a** to use, for me at least. You have to keep lifting it up and it's much less precise that the trackpad. With the trackpad, you only have to lift your finger and is very precise and can be adjusted for speed and gestures. Gestures such as enlarge, decrease, show the home screen, etc. make it so easy to use and shorten the time to go between windows and pages, etc. To right click, I set it to 2-fingered tap. It has numerous customization settings, so you can set it up in whatever way works best for you. The embedded rechargeable battery also saves you from having to buy batteries all the time. Unless you are in love with a mouse, I think you'll find just how much easier it is with this trackpad. I think that getting used to the difference won't take you long at all.Read full review

great trackpad - def improvement over previous version

works great. Is more resilient than previous version since it doesn't depend on delicate rubber foot pads to the "click" - these wear out over time. The track pad is larger than previous. The internal battery is easily rechargeable and lasts a very long time. Read full review

Another great Apple design.

Classic Apple ingenuity and design. For the activities I do with programs like Logic, Final Cut Pro along with everyday email internet and general computer use, I much prefer a Magic Trackpad to a traditional mouse. The battery life is great, you charge it about once a month. It’s also super easy to travel with. All good in the hood!Read full review

Great addition to my Mac

I didn't purchase the Magic Trackpad 2 when I bought my new Mac, but then decided I wanted one. This is a brand new trackpad in its original packaging. It works perfectly right out of the box. Very happy with it. I found that I have been using it more than my Magic Mouse.Read full review

Great addition to my Mac usage.

It's very solid, has a good feel and looks great. As one would expect, it paired quickly and configured well to a Mac. Once i enabled tap to click, it behaved like i expected. It's been taking some getting used to after my experience with the Synaptics touchpads in Dells and HPs but i'm happy about the purchase.Read full review

Color Don't Matter!

Brand new, factory-sealed box as promised. Works perfectly too. The color, however, is off. The sides are silver, but the touchpad's surface is a very dull (almost silver-looking) white.

It’s just what I needed for Logic Pro X

The one I received was one of the more expensive ones because it was in VERY good condition. Like the cord still hadn’t been opened and the box was in pretty good condition as well. This obviously belonged to someone else who shall remain unnamed, and I had to figure out a way to rename it as mine. For anyone reading this, I could only do so from my MacBook Pro and not my iMac I’m repairing; for whatever reason.

As for functionality, this is just about the equivalent to a MacBook trackpad and has the same haptic feedback and pressure sensitivity that I wanted to bring over to my iMac. Now I have more pressure sensitive control in my applications like Logic Pro X that I’ve come to be so reliant upon on my laptop. This thing feels quality and definitely improves my experience using an iMac than I would get out of just using a mouse.

Worth every penny

The product was exactly as advertised and shipping was fast. I just purchased a reconditioned 21" iMac with Retina display in August. At that time I additionally purchased the Magic Keyboard 2 with the number keyboard attached. The unit came with a Magic Mouse 2 and my wife and I both disliked it, so purchased a cheap bluetooth mouse with a wheel on the top for scrolling. I started having problems with pain in my right thumb, early onset arthritis, and using a mouse was making my thumb hurt more and more. I finally broke down and decided to try the Magic Trackpad 2. If fits perfectly along side of the keyboard and takes up less space on the desktop. What a difference! I can do everything so far that I could do with a mouse and my pain has lessened. If you are on the fence about trying the Trackpad 2, do it. I find I do less hand movements with the Trackpad 2 than I did with any mouse. I did adjust some of the settings for my personal preference. It is pricey, but sometimes comfort overrules the cost.Read full review
