The item is constructed well. It is a bit dated, but still works well for what it does. It was decently priced and I have an even older one, that still works, so they are still useful to me.

The remote is too small and there are many apps that are missing . Some I get on Roku and can't have on appletv .

Easy to use for my elderly mother
Love this product! I've purchased three now, two for me and now one for my elderly mother. She usually gets frustrated while trying new gadgets but got the hang of it right away. I got an early model because I wanted it for home sharing iTunes and not much else. It serves that purpose excellently. This generation only allows the use of a set number of built-in apps which you can show or hide on the main menu. If you want to add apps you’ll need a later model. Setup was very straightforward. Excellent product, simple and functional
We already had the same Apple TV device connected to our main upstairs TV and bought this second one for the basement TV. Very simple to connect both to the same WiFi network. Easy to access Netflix, YouTube, and a host of other services from either unit. Also easy to use either unit from an iPad or iPhone by routing the display to Apple TV. Very satisfied with the product for our purposes. The only thing I find frustrating is using functions where alphanumeric input is required, such as Search...very time-consuming character-at-a-time entry by navigating a keypad layout display with the tiny arrow keys on the remote (fortunately we rarely need to experience that!). Easy set up Does what I want,
We bought a Chromecast, so I wanted to get an Apple TV so I could mirror my Apple products easily as well so having a 3rd generation Apple TV works fine for this. I streamed an iTunes Movie from it and watched some PBS shows as well. The remote is nice though somewhat tiresome when typing in long passwords.
