Gadget Well Worth the Money
We are exploring ways to decrease our costs for streaming movies. Amazing what it costs these days to have a DISH account with full access to lots of choices. Not willing to cut the cord yet, we thought we would see how a $60 device ( this one) paired with a $10 a month Netflix fee would work. Looks good! The Apple TV is easy to set up and works well when it comes to providing many movie and TV series choices.
As an interim step, we reduced DISH to one receiver. Gone is the Joey for one of the extra TVs. That room has Netflix through Apple TV only. So far, so good. We are happy with the changes.Read full review

For an Apple third gen tv box it works good but it's already outdated...4k is all the rage now, but the 3rd gen Apple tv box is great for screen mirroring through your iPhone. Yea the other tv channels work fine and all that but that's ok I guess for that purpose.Read full review

This is my 2nd, 3rd Generation Apple TV. I bought one last year for my guest room and it was a big hit. This year I bought one for my bedroom, and I love it. And itʻs not even the newest model.
I pay $15 a month for my cable box in the living room- thatʻs $180 a year just for the cable box. I paid $60 for the 3rd Generation Apple TV and I"m sure it will last for years. Granted, you canʻt easily get all networks, but I have HBO Go and Showtime and Netflix, plus you can watch YouTube, some SOME other networks. Itʻs enough for me!! Highly recommended.Read full review

iPad and appleTV
I got it to watch anime from my iPad to watch it on the large tv. And I to can play the games on the large tv. I got this without the instruction (I bought this used) and it made it little hard to setup. I did search on line and find instruction, but not all I needed so I got on some forum and got the info I needed. But once it started it was easy, once I started install and got the Bluetooth keyboard and iPad it was a breeze. Later I will rent and buy movies, they are easy to do.
