Quality ATH-m40x headphones with a clean, flat sounds
These headphones are better than most. Durable metallic headband with a clean black finish. Sounds flat for master editing. M50x has more bass I red. Comfortably light, pillow feeling on the ears but may get warm after 2 hours or more. Comes with two different auxiliary cables. Love the detachable cords unlike m30x and below. Audio Techncia and/or Bose to the rescue.Read full review

Upgraded my AT headphones to this model
I own another set of AUDIO TECHNICA headphones that are great but the cord shorts out. I bought this one b/c it has a removable/replaceable cord. Slightly better sound in this one also.

Great for Mixing, Accurate Headphones, Non-removable Cable
These ATH-M40x headphones sound great and would be wonderful for mixing songs. They are accurate to the recording, detailed, and comfortable to wear. With really wonderful sound and good bass extension, these headphones have a little less bass than the M50x (but M50x are unrealistic level anyway).
The only thing I might change about them is that the cable is non-removable so if it has a problem, you cannot replace it.Read full review
Great product
I am not an headphone expert but ATH-M40X is one of the best headphone i ever used. It is lighter then ATH-M50x yet it could be lighter but it has a solid & simple design which makes it durable. If you want to use it in an office or at home, don't ever hesitate to buy it. For outside usage there are better alternatives but with a shorter cable this could work as well. It comes with 2 cables and a carrying bag.Read full review

Excelent
This is all I was hoping for. These studio headphones are great to hear the quality of the music you listen to. Instruments sound clear. This is a more neutral headphone so it's great for those who don't need to hear bass louder. Very pleased.Read full review

More than worth the price!
Great sounding headphones! Sounds just as good as my Bose QC 35 at 1/3 the cost. Less comfortable of course as the Bose basically beats all headphones in that category. The little amp that comes with the package is basically an eq that increases the power ever so slightly but has 3 settings for every time you press the power button. 1 for flat, bass boost, treble boost!
Would def recommend!Read full review

Fantastic headphones.
Everything about these is great for music listening, studio mixing, and I wear them all day. The first week was a little eh, but now the audio is burned in and sounds 100%, and also in the first week it wasn't as comfortable, But now that im past the first week, it's super comfortable and the sound is so amazing. You'll hear music like never before. HIGHLY recommend.Read full review

Good Quality Headphones
I bought these as recommended to listen to subliminals. They are comfortable, pretty light weight and I can wear the while laying down on my back without them sliding off. I would recommend them at the price which was around $100. They have excellent sound quality.Read full review

Good and versatile headphones
These headphones sounds quite good and are relatively comfortable, even if they are tight. My only issue is that the materials of the earcups and the cable feel a little weaker than those from competing brands.Read full review
