replacing dimming rear view mirror gone bad, and threatening to leak black stuff all over my car like it has others..... we had to use the small ring that surrounds the ball from the new one, replacing the old one, as they were not the same size (the ball is smaller on the non dimming mirror), but it works perfectly and no potential mess on my seats or me!

Damaged product

The mirror was a genuine BMW product but not for my specific model and year of BMW. It would mount to the mirror mount, but it was a chunkier mirror than the original Also, the glass of the mirror was damaged and unusable. It looked as if the mirror had been down range from a metal chop saw or a welder and the glass of the mirror was pitted from metal slag.

dimming hinge was popped out of connector. pried off cover and popped it back in. now as new.
