Compare to Movie

I Liked the movie for years and have watched it many time but I never read the story. I finely decided to do it so I bought the book. The comparison was interesting and also demonstrated how our ealy censorship affected the move. Now some of the scenes made more sense even though they seemed strange in the movie. Now I know what the "Big Sleep" means.Read full review

Masterpiece

Firstly, the novel's storytelling is nothing short of exceptional. Raymond Chandler's writing style is both engaging and immersive, effortlessly drawing readers into the gritty world of 1930s Los Angeles. The narrative is filled with suspense, twists, and turns, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Marlowe's first-person narration adds an extra layer of depth, allowing readers to experience the story through the eyes of a seasoned detective, making it an unforgettable reading experience.Read full review

A great detective novel.

A great old book at a good price, if you like Phillip Marlow you will like this, it takes place in the 40's or 50's.
