Gretsch B6C V Bibsby Trem

I purchased this B6 to go on a new Electromatic 5420T in Fairlane Blue, for aesthetic reasons and also as the stock old type B6 hasn't enough holes to secure to the body in my opinion.

The Gretsch B6 V trem is a nicely made unit with quality metal used in the construction, the design is attractive. I filled the pressed in areas with colour matched blue paint to match the guitar paint.

I found the stock spring put the arm a bit high, so I used the 5/8" one from the Electromatic and it put it in the right place for me.

The old type Korean made B6 Bigsby comes with a 5/8" spring which puts the arm too low so I fitted an Allparts 1" stainless to bring the arm to the right place.

I prefer this style of B6 which is fitted to most Japan made professional series Gretsches and the action is superior I think.

Although Import Duty was about £27 the unit was well worth having, I would recommend fitting a roller bridge to go with this if using a Tunamatic, a Vanson or Wilkinson one should give the same string spacing, I fitted a Vanson one and it was right on the money.Read full review

Works perfectly, factory blemishes hardly noticeable and saves a LOT of money!

Slightly blemished, hardly noticeable and in buying several of them I have often been able to buff and polish them so that you'd never know they were factory blemished models! And you save a LOT of money and with no arm, you also save time and money if like me, you don't want the standard Bigsby flat handle!Read full review
