Forgot to leave a message review, but have had it for a while and it works great. The only thing is you have to use the original remote or buy a universal. At least for Spectrum, you can’t program your remote to use sound bar. But that is with Spectrum not the Bose. Sound is great and it’s easy to connect all Bluetooth devices too.Read full review

Sorry, just not worth the money for me.

I simply do not hear the sound improvement I was expecting and hoping for. It is only marginally better than that coming from my 6 year old Vizio 55". It is very good quality in appearance, however, I still have a very difficult time hearing, with clarity, the dialogue of movies or shows that have any music in the background. The feature that is supposed to help with that only marginally improves the voice and tonal quality.Read full review

Keep your expectations limited, not a surround sound system, but more a volume enhancer.

this is a good item if you want to up your poor tv speakers and add better sound. it will not blow you away and is not like surround sound units at all. pretty much in a nutshell, it makes things coming from your tv a little bit louder and clearer. the remote is solid, in a Bose kind of way. it's big and clunky, you'll probably not lose it!!! you will need it to toggle back and forth from the voice enhancement button due to the fact that sound will change going from video source to source (my local news doesn't sound good using it, but movie dialog is much improved). it does not get loud like surround sound systems and you'll probably wonder why as I am also wondering, but again....it's not a surround sound system, but makes your tv sound better than the speakers. remote is pretty easy to program. Bluetooth music sounds very good and is easy to connect to your device. if you currently own a surround sound system and expect it to replace it in a smaller package look elsewhere. this isn't it. while it's a good, simple set up (one digital optical audio cable is included for input, no HDMI) it's not going to give you that "theatre sound". what it will do is make it easier for you to hear dialog and improve your TV's sound slightly. if you are looking for Bose "warmth" (those of you who say you are audiophiles-btw, there is no such thing, person or animal, get over yourself) you won't get it here. it is a solid unit with just a bit better sound quality than most televisions. good for the older generation who don't want to tinker with all that audio set up stuff. so remember, it's not surround sound....and it may not even get as loud as your current television (if you have a huge tv). works well in smaller areas, otherwise I think it would be overwhelmed by a large area. and no, it isn't that impressive sound wise. just gives your tv that little "extra" your speakers may not be able to. keep your expectations at a minimum, glad I bought mine refurbished and saved a lot. wouldn't have wanted to pay full price.Read full review

Great compact soundbar

After much research I landed on the Bose Solo 5 because it's specialty is enhancing speech frequencies and it excels at this feature. The unit is also good at bass response even though the unit is compact, which is the perfect size for my bedroom. It is easy to use and remote works well. If there is one negative it is the manual, it could be a bit more specific. I consider this a great unit for a small room especially for persons that have trouble hearing voices.Read full review

Bose Solo

I only got the Bose because of their history with sound. Bose typically has the best sounding speakers of any type that they’ve created so when I got the solo I figured I would be blown away and I wasn’t. The sound sounds better than my TV speakers which is great but I guess I’m looking for a more surroundsound so I’m to get a Bose with a subwoofer and maybe some other speakers to incorporate into the living room area but overall it’s better than my TV speakersRead full review

Bose Solo Refurbished a good value

Works well for such a small unit (at a small price). Small footprint. Nice remote that is easy to use and really does work the TV & Cable Box (most universal remotes are confusing). This speaker is not going to blow you away so temper expectations. That said, I am very pleased with the sound. Does a lot to clear up dialog but....

This is a great inexpensive sound bar to clear up dialog on wall mounted flat panel TV's and the Bluetooth works great. The problem is there is basically no bass (because of it's size I assumed there would not be and I was right). Comes with a very nice universal remote that feels more substantial that what comes with most TV's and it's easy to setup. Would be even better if it either came or was compatible with a small Bluetooth sub for some bass but otherwise I am very pleased with it.Read full review

Huge Improvement from TV Speakers

This sound bar has really impressed me. I'm used to having a Bose system with the speakers that you place strategically throughout the area or room, but my new apartment is too small for that so this sound bar works perfectly for me. It has definitely enhanced the basic sound from my tv which was definitely needed. I also love that I can connect via Bluetooth and play music from my phone!
