I have to agree w/your suggested response about this product being better than expected, as I was disappointed to find the speakers unwrapped (except for Saran wrap on one) and loose in the shipping box. Speaker is in good condition but the wires smelled like cigarettes.

Good Buy at a Good $

Speakers have a nice, balanced sound for their size. Using these as a makeshift "soundbar" for a TV mounted to the side of a small dresser in a rental unit as I don't want to mount on a wall. They have a great range and the volume can get seriously loud without any bottoming out (haven't cranked all the way up, but the max without disturbing neighbors has been very satisfying). Do wish these had the ability to plug in a separate subwoofer, ala the Companion 3 but the bass is decent for music and movies in a small space, but realistically don't expect earth shattering vibrations. But, again, it sounds quite nice and balanced.Read full review
