Making your own medicine capsules
This item is GREAT for anyone who wants to fill their own medicine capsules.
It's really easy to use. I found by placing everything on a small cookie sheet or even a lid of a box, I can sit in my recliner and fill the capsules while I watch t.v.
The cookie sheet I use is about 14 inches long, 8 inches wide and about a half inch deep. It fits perfect in my lap and it also holds anything that spills or drops, so you can scoop it up and use it. (Hope this makes sense.)
I appreciate that all the parts can go in my dishwasher for cleaning.
I gave this 4 stars, because it can be a little annoying trying to get everything into the capsules. This is what the Spreader Card is for. The card does work great. But, if you only have a few capsules to fill, it can get tricky keeping product from falling into the empty holes.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs to use it, because it's very affordable and it's sturdy.

IF the goal is More Time,Materials and Cost
To load the “machine” you select a capsule and separate it just as you would if you intended to push the parts back together through the fill material and slide them back together completing a capsule. Instead you place the 2 haves in 2 holes, this takes about the same time as it take to complete the capsule by hand.. This is repeated 24 times. One should measure the correct amount of fill for 24 capsules in a small cup. A portion of the cup is poured over the larger side of the capsules in a slight reservoir. A credit card like card is used to move the material over the open capsules attempting to fill them evenly. Once they are full the excess should be removed with the card and returned to the cup. Then use the tamper to compress the material, if the material packs you repeat till full or your out of material. Generally count on 3 rounds of packing and clearing if your attempting to “fill” your capsules.. The machine is not designed to have the caps of the capsules filled, using the way it's designed capsules are fulled to around 66 % of capacity. You can work at filling the other side but there are issues and if near the over filled capacity that can be achieved by hand the machine will not connect many of the halves and they will drop out in 2 parts or be stuck in the machine. All the actually full capsules will need to be seated by hand again so they don't come apart by accident. If the material is free flowing it will pour out when placing the haves of the machine together to complete the capsules.
So if the goal is more aggravation, complexity, mess, materials, time and money to get less in each capsule so more are needed requiring more and more... You may want this “machine”??Read full review

Great little device for capsuling custom herb formulas.
I've owned this machine before and it's a great little capsule maker. It's easy to use and has a great design for filling caps to their full capacity. You will appreciate the tamper, the card, and the spring loaded capsule platforms which assure you'll get a nice tight fit when you put them together. It makes 24 capsules at a time which is a manageable amount for individual use. Read full review

Good, but fairly slow.
It works good, but fairly slow. Better than filling by hand. Most of the time, one or two don't click together, and that's a bit of a pain. I still have to pinch each capsule (24) tight by hand when finished. Clean-up is not bad, just a lot of rinsing. Overall, better filling than by hand, but by no means an "assembly line".Read full review

Awesome for saving money
I'm able to make my own green tea capsules and other herbal supplements with fresh ingredients and save lots of money. Easy to use and fun way to zen out while listening to books on my iPad. The 00 capsules fit perfectly and I haven't had any trouble making them at all. I'm very pleased with the entire process and will try vegan capsules to continue my healthy trend. This is a solid device, not breakable, easy to clean, and I wish I'd started doing this years ago before spending hundreds at GNC. Read full review

The Capsule Machine
The Capsule Machine is a much quicker and more efficient way of filling your own capsules vs. filling them by hand. I use it for my powdered herbs and nutritional supplements that I purchase in bulk. There is a short learning curve for using it and then it is pretty simple. Check out the manufacturers website or YouTube for videos on how to use it. I only had one capsule in each of the first two batches I made that had a problem (user error of course) and have had no issues since. The tamper included makes it easy to fill your capsules to maximum capacity if desired. Their ad says you can make 24 capsules in as little as 2 minutes but since I tamp my ingredients down 2-3 times it usually takes me 10-15 minutes. It is well worth the small investment for The Capsule Machine and buying the empty capsules in bulk. The only improvement I would like to see from this company is a larger capacity machine.Read full review

Time saver!!
I have only used this once, so I am sure I will get better at it. But it saved me SO MUCH time. I was filling individual capsules until this came and can't believe how much faster this is. Highly recommend. I was able to fill 48 capsules in about a half hour...my first time. The only issue I had is figuring out how much each capsule holds in order to take the correct dosage. Ultimately, I measured out the amount (of tumeric) in 24 capsules. It wouldn't all fit so I measured amount for 12 capsules, filled 24 caps with half dose, and another 24 with half dose, and now take 2 caps a day to get my correct dosage. (Hope that made sense.) I suppose buying larger caps would work but don't want larger pills.Read full review

Easy and Fast!
This little machine is much faster and easier than I thought it would be. Already paid for itself! I was a bit slow the first two batches but then got faster and faster! Took me ten minutes to make enough Vit C for 4 people that will last months. Clean and easy. Capsules are perfect every time. I make Rutin & Vit C for my Mom, saves so much money. Nutritional Yeast, herbs, all so easy. I put out a piece of wax paper to catch any spills and there was hardly any. I love it. Highly recommended!Read full review
