Fabulous diving watch with real heritage
Very reliable, comfortable, and good time keeper. It hand winds, but doesn't hack. Hand winding helps get the watch enough energy when you haven't worn it in a while. The band is of a good quality and is easily replaceable since it is a standard 20mm width, should you wish to. The watch has good lume on the markers, with the hands a slightly different hue than the markers. It's easily readable even after hours. The bezel is extremely easy to manipulate with wet, slippery hands, miles better than the Seiko SKX. Bezel has 60 clicks, and is very positive. This watch was used by the Italian Navy and it is capable of withstanding depths exceeding the 200m listed. It is one of my favorite watches and I'm sad to see that it is not available in the USA without going to dealers abroad. If Citizen were smart, they'd bring it back state-side.

Superb affordable tool watch
Very nice ISO rated dive watch. Design and accuracy punch way above its weight class. Came with yellow fake scuba tank presentation container. Value is remarkable and it's easily as nice as Seiko skxoo7. Only thing to consider: it does not have micro adjustments on the clasp so it might be hit or miss whether the bracelet fits your particular wrist size. Fortunately for me, I was able to remove links to a perfect sizing on my wrist. But that may not happen for your wrist size. These are getting very hard to find brand new. Love this beautiful watch!
I picked up a really good deal on this watch that has been discontinued by Citizen. I've been wanting it for a long time and thought I better pull the trigger. I got the jewel bracelet which is really nice, but I replace it with a bullfrog strap from ClockworkBIRDshop.
The movement is really nice. Great lume. It has been compared a million times to the Seiko SKX, which I also have. They are interchangeable and you can even go with the SKX on the left arm, and the NY0040 on the right arm as the crowns are on opposite sides of the dial if you're inclined.
I'm so happy with this. I was initially thinking about waiting and reselling it, but it's been on my wrist since I opened the box, which is so remarkably extraordinary. It comes in a little diver tank. Such a nice touch! Read full review
This may be the best entry level automatic diver on the market today!
I buy, sell and collect watches and have been doing do for nearly 30 years now. Generally the industry standard for entry level diver had been the Seiko SKX and it's predecessors. However, I have added this to my permanent collection, generally not available in the US as an automatic, I purchased this watch for $170 plus shipping and tax for slightly under $200. Out of the box I would say its finish is on par with many of my entry level Swiss dive watches which generally cost $500 to $1000 USD. I compared it to my SKX pepsi and the only thing I notices is that the Seiko has better lum. This watch is also readily available in the US as a Eco Drive for about $135, If you are looking for your 1st dive watch for between $135 to $235 look no further.
