Not 0 but def works in the cold

0 degrees, maybe not BUT this things fine for 25+ with a mat in a hammock. Says 15 degrees on the box, maybe on a mat/cot in a tent it works better. Works for what I need for 50 bucks and the carrying bag is super convenient. Roughly the size of 2 basketballsRead full review

by TOP CRITICAL REVIEW

Temperature rating insufficient, impossible to stuff in sack

Comfortable bag, lightweight BUT 2 THINGS!!!

First, on a cot in a tent @ 25°F low temp I froze. Even packed my old sleeping bag for outside layer still froze. I expected better

Second, it does not have tie strings rope band etc to roll up and put into stuff sack!!! Had to use by belt to secure it and force into stuff sack, again expected better

Third, zipper snags fabric while using, expected better

I'd buy another

Ok, honestly I haven't used it yet. I have unrolled it. I'm 6'3" 265lbs and I fit in it. The outer shell seems a little thin, like it may tear easily. But I can't say for sure. I'm big and I fit. That's a great start. Just sleep in a tent or lay a tarp under it and it should be great. I'd definitely buy more if the need arises.Read full review

Warm, roomy, easy to zip. Just don't expect to backpack it.

The GOOD: roomy, warm, easy to zip-up
The NOT SO GOOD: heavy and bulky

I'm 5'10", 225# athletic build. I found the Coleman Big Basin to be ample in both length and width. My feet were not digging into the bottom seam all night...a great improvement for my comfort. Additionally, I could sleep comfortably on my side and roll over to the other side. Plenty of width in the bag to include my clothes, water bottle and most other items that I wanted to remain warm. I slept out, in a solo tent, at a low temp of 25 degrees F. The bag was plenty warm, but not too warm. I slept in cotton/poly thermals, a single layer of wool socks, and a poly wool cap...since my bald head loses alot of heat. My tent site was on bare, cold ground. A plastic layer underneath my tent and a 3/8" cushion under my bag. Overall, I was very pleased. I especially like that I can unzip from the bottom so I could vent at my feet. This feature will be useful in the Spring.

I'm a car camper, not a backpack camper, so this bag suits me for winter camping. This brings us to the drawback of this bag...it is heavy and I found it impossible to get back in it's original compression bag. It does fit easily into a military drawstring dry bag. It is easily the largest item on my camping list.

Big Basin Bargain

Great big bag for the bigger/taller person. It's well constructed, comfortable, very warm. Fleece around the feet for warmth. Nice bottom zipper for venting. Thick and padded. This is not a summer bag, it needs to be cold. Also, probably not for backpacking, because it is simply too large. However, great bag for bigger folk for base camp, or canoe camping, car camping. I am 6'2" and generally uncomfortable in even the longest-widest mummy bag. In this bag I can move around, roll over, stretch and move legs, or switch sides with no problem without being constricted. Coleman has a great product here, glad I din't spend hundreds more.Read full review

big bag for that big person!

So I will start with that I am 6 ft tall and weigh 409 lbs. my last sleeping bag finally gave out which lead me to the Coleman big basin! this bag is massive and warm! I just did a weekend camping trip up here in the mountains in Montana and the temperature last night dropped to 41°f. I felt like I was at home wrapped up in my comforter! let's move on to how much room I had! I am a stomachache sleeper and like to sprawl out! again this bag is huge! I had no restrictions with sprawling out or movement! pair this bag with a wenzel single or double air mattress and you will get the best nights sleep outdoors you have ever had!Read full review

Best of the best!

I went through 3 bags, and returned each of them before finally getting the great quality of this much more quality bag! It's bigger, and weighs more, unlike kids, at 58 I look for quality!

AWESOME!!!

Bottom line with this bag...if you're a little on the heavier side, like myself (I'm 6' tall, 245 lbs)... you'll love this sleeping bag!!! Don't go with an unknown brand.
