Nicely packaged but does not work!

Don't worry about how it is packaged. Make a product that actually works. Great price if it worked. Very disappointed! Buy it, you wont regret it..

After some finagling I figured it out. Yes it does a good job. First thing I did was straighten out the identification labels on our electric panel. Will also use to identify wires in garage as we are putting in new wiring. Have to find out where I can get different color refills.
When you want a header than writting underneath hit line arrow, brings up black option box, 1 and 2, hit 1 and then backspace to erace black box, dont worry machine will remember to put second word underneath. Just remember just before you hit print, look at screen to see what font size it is, seems to change without warning. We love this thing, should have bought this sooner.Read full review

Very nice machine.

The printing on the labels is very clean and crisp, which is good for my bad eyes. The tape cartriges I can swap out in about five seconds. I was, however, a little disappointed that it only came with one font, that being the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I realize that this is an entry level machine but I feel it should have had at least 10 fonts out of the hundreds that are available to start with, including at least two script fonts. Otherwise this a great lable maker. I would recomend this to friends.Read full review

Dymo LabelMaker 160 Hand-Held Label Maker 1790415

I used this to label electric switches whose functions are difficult for new or infrequent users to figure out. Eliminates searching and experimenting to identify circuit breakers in my house and rental units. Also useful on any switches that control fixtures or appliances that can't be seen or heard from the location of the switch (for example, outside motion sensor lamps controlled by switches inside the garage). I re-labeled some switches on my boat where original labels were worn off and faded. I plan to do the same with some controls in my vehicle. This makes a nice clear label with a variety of font sizes (8 pt to 24 pts) so I could squeeze a lot of letters into small space, or make more conspicuous lettering. This uses 1/2 inch wide tape. A ten-foot spool of tape comes with the unit. I don't know cost of additional tapes. Writes in caps or lower case, makes some symbols. I would recommend using this with an AC adapter instead of 9 volt battery (battery not included anyway) to save $ if you're going to use it frequently. I haven't had this item for very long so I can't comment on the durability of this item or the durability of the labels it makes.Read full review
