Pretty Good GPU for Steam Games

I recently upgraded a very old PC with some 2016-era parts (Z170, i3-6100, 32 GB 3200 MHz DRAM). This GPU pairs very nicely with this hardware. I can run my Steam games – Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein New Order, GTA 5 Legacy – around 50-60 fps at 1080p. The price was very fair, and arrived in great condition with no cosmetic or functional issues. I've been using this 1060 now for several weeks and it's giving great service, not to mention it fits my old Mini-ITX case just fine (if a little snug).Read full review

Runs hot not worth full purchase price

This card runs a little better than ok. The graphics quality is really good during EVE-Online (set to max settings), Star Wars Old Republic, and Elite Dangerous on 3 24" LED screens.
I am disappointed that this card generates so much more heat (to the point that my PC is alarming) than the 2x GT 740's I use to run. I have an Antec 900 ATX case with 4x 120mm fans and 1x 200mm fan all running on high settings.

I should have gone with a GTX 1070 or 1080 (now that prices are starting to come down a bit). With the dual fans (or even the Hybrid model) these cards will dissipate heat better than the single fan cards.Read full review

Best video card to use with the HP Z420 desk top computer.

Great video card. This card is an older version that works well in the HP Z420 Graphics computer which uses a xenon processor. With this card and the HP Z420, you are able to play 98 percent of all games at a fraction of the cost. The HP Z420 uses server memory which is much cheaper and much faster than regular memory. the perfect card for compact spaces

price vs performance it's hard to beat a 1060 right now and the compact size opens up some great build configurations that would otherwise be limited in rendering performance.

Nice card for the size, great HTPC and family couch gaming card

The EVGA, SC, while not the fastest 1060, it does the job well in a tight HTPC case. Plays Jedi Fallen Order with Medium-ish settings decently but the small heat sink means louder fan but I got it for a familly HTPC gaming PC for multiplayer games that require more power than a basic card but don't need higher mid-range cards. 3gb vram still viable in 2019? I think so!

Many folks believe the 3gb version of the 1060 isn't worth getting, but I don't agree. It's true that it has a fewer cores and generally runs about 5(ish) percent off the 6gb 1060's, but it's barely noticeable IMHO.
I've only had a handful of instances where the 3gb has limited me (ghost recon wildlands). And usually reducing the settings (at 1080p) from ultra to very-high has made the difference in vram usage. And as most of you know, a drop from ultra to very-high is barely perceptible to most of us. And certainly worth the lower price of the 3gb cards vs the 6gb cards as far as I'm concerned. At the time of writing this review, that difference was roughly $40 on average in the used market.
Now, is the card worth it compared to a full fat 8gb RX580 which can be had for essentially the same price? Probably not. I needed the 1060 because it was supported by the ancient legacy bios in my LAN rig, where the RX580 needed a UEFI bios. Otherwise I would have certainly gone for the AMD based card. Of course, the 1060 also runs considerably cooler as it draws less wattage which is always nice.
Overall, anyone running 1080p in the middle of 2019, wanting to run most modern games at high/very-high and even ultra settings will be well served by this quiet running, low power draw, very affordable little card. Read full review

Strong 1080p gaming graphics card here in 2020!

Here in 2020, you've got lots of choices for graphics cards that deliver strong 1080p gaming performance in AAA titles. I build PC's for a living and when I need a graphics card that delivers strong gaming performance for a great price I go straight for a EVGA GTX 1060 6 GB. Other cards can deliver 1080p results, but the 1060 6 GB always outshines them all in gaming - these are also easy cards to drop into a pre-built business PC and turn it into a powerful gaming PC!Read full review

Perfect addition to my rig

I needed a new video card but I wasn't able to justify the cost of a 1080. I chose the single fan model of the 1060 to give myself more case options when I build a new rig in the mear future. EVGA no nonsense workhorse

Bought used, in great condition, benchmarked just fine. When teamed with I5 8400 it will play any game or VR at least at 1080 and 60 fps and almost always higher than that. I use with Window mixed reality on Steam crossover app for WMR (and Revive app) on Lenovo headgear. The best thing I have found to do is Google Earth VR which is fantastic and free. If you havent tried this yet in VR you are in for a treat as you zoom about anywhere on earth at any height, including street level in areas that are supported (populated areas). And it is in 3D! Anyway EVGA is known for quality and customer support, not to mention they are a USA co. No frills design, you dont need two fans and aluminum backing plate, they are mainly for appearance. Awesome Little Cards-- Huge Performance

1060GTX are great midrange cards, and essentially are all you need for 1080p gaming in 2018. These particular cards are tiny! If you have a smaller case, then this is what you need, absolutely. Although small, they perform just like their bigger brothers, and even take to Overclocking quite well!

I'm not too familiar with Midrange cards, so I'm not sure if this is specific to these cards or 1060s in general, but there's no SLI bridge on these. Since one of these is for myself and the other is for my Wife, we had no plans to run them in SLI, but this is something to keep in mind!Read full review
