Had crystal silicate throughout entire concrete pool.
We were very worried that we would have to have someone professionally acid wash our pool. Came across this product & in the disclosures it stated that it may take up to three months for the silicate to be removed. After 15 days it’s almost completely gone with no brushing. Well worth the cost.Read full review

On the Fence
Still questions its ability. I feel there may some improvements or at least not getting worse. I am still not convinced its a descale and stain remover. If you start earlier when your scale just started forming then maybe you will get better results. I do think this is a better product than others though. Read full review

Give it time to work and it will do the job! Don't be Stingy with it!
I had my pool replastered a few years ago and I was horrified to remove the winter cover and find the walls and floor of the pool were rough like 60 grit sandpaper! Even the plastic parts were scaled and rough! I called my plaster guy and he recommended scaletec...apparently scaling is a very common issue. The alternative was to drain the pool and manually sand blast, acid wash or sand the surfaces. Not wanting to go that route, I tried scaletec and within a couple days I started to see significant reduction in the roughness. Within a few weeks it was smooth again.
A few tips...
Don't be stingy with it, especially if your pool is really rough! Use at least as much as they recommend and reapply to tackle stubborn scale. From my experience, you can't use too much!
Be prepared to brush your pool with a steel pool brush regularly to help knock off the scale. You'll see tons of "sand like material" in your vacuum...this is normal.
For stains, they fade very slowly...be patient...if you're not patient, drain the pool and acid wash it...those are your alternatives!
If it's still got some rough spots after the first few weeks, reapply and get to brushing! Scaling is not an easy issue to solve unless you want to pay a fortune!Read full review

Best Product for Descaling
I recently paid over $200 to have my pool descaled. They bead-blasted the sides of my pool. It lasted for about 2 months and then the white line came back. One of my neighbors recommended Scaletec so I purchased one 64 oz. bottle and it took care of the problem instantly. Needless, to say, I will keep this product on hand in case it happens again.Read full review

Pool resurfaced
After having our pool resurfaced and installing a new natural gas heater our pool resurface company suggests putting in a monthly dose to keep the copper metals from staining the new surface. I'm just following their recommendations.Read full review

it didn't work as I anticipated.
In NV we have heavy water and lots of calcium cab build up quick. The white ring around the pool is still there but diminished little.
