straight out of the box, rosin up the bow, tune and play (except for the bridge, see below). for the price of a set of strings we now have a working violin in the family. the tone is poor, but acceptable for learners, and the learner 4/4's at the kids school are $300 and no better. i had to clean up and regroove the bridge, but this happens with expensive violins as well from what i read.Read full review

Hello I received the violin... but E string peg of that violin was loose. When we tried to tighten it it won't. We keep on tried . Because it was not tightening enough.
