This motherboard worked for Windows 98 install.
Installed Windows 98 on the Foxconn 865G7MF-SH. Drivers installed about as well as you could expect for a 22 year old OS. What took the longest was finding and installing USB drivers for the front panel add-on USB ports. I found the VGA, USB and sound drivers online, just keep looking, and testing, and deleting drivers if they don't work. Bad motherboard for retro build
I thought it would be a good choice for building a windows 9x retro machine since it's being sold by reputable sellers at good price. However, this motherboard has endless issues.
1. Lack of support. Foxconn website just don't have anything for their old motherboard. You have no where to find newer drivers and bios.
2. Buggy. USB 2.0 controller doesn't work with USB 2.0 driver on my windows ME. I need to either uninstall the driver or disable USB 2.0 controller in BIOS. The intel integrated gpu doesn't work with latest linux kernel. I tried lubuntu and puppy, they both freezes soon after boot. I need an AGP video card to fix this issue.
3.Quality issue: The onboard audio card is broken. I use the correct driver on windows and linux but I am still not able to get any sound out of it.Read full review
