Great value for money
Despite the novelty design with big "BG" letters on the handle, do not be fooled, this a quality made knife from Gerber. The orange colour is actually very practical and helps to quickly identify where the knife is, if accidentally placed. As an average sized woman, with small- medium sized hands, the knife feels and fits comfortably in my hand. Men would have no problem in this area. The handle feels very grippy and does not slip. I took the lanyard whistle off the knife as it got in the way when using it and tied it onto the fire steel instead.
I recently went camping and took this knife along, not only did it cut through fishing line and paracord like butter but made beautiful feather sticks and I got a fire started with the built-in fire steel too. (A larger fire steel is much easier to light a fire with but this will easily light a fire in a survival situation or if your primary fire making tools fail). The knife handled batoning wood well (as a test) but I'd recommend an axe for heavy wood processing tasks. The built in sharpener is handy and gets the blade back to being relatively sharp - sharp enough to carry out most tasks. I recommend stropping first with a leather belt if you want to do finer bushcraft tasks like making feather sticks. The sheath looks and feels well made, you don't need to worry about your knife falling out. I do wish the sheath was a little smaller though, it can feel a little bulky at times. The knife is solid and durable yet the whole kit on your belt doesn't feel like it constantly weighs you down when you're walking/fishing/camping. Pica Deal had the best price, the knife arrived pretty quickly and packaged well.
All up 5 stars - this is great value for money for someone who wants an all rounder knife for outdoor adventures!

A great field knife
As I would expect from a Gryll's design and Gerber manufacture and quality control this is an excellent tool for serious outdoors activity. The quality of the steel appears high and the finish durable. The scabbard and associated tools are thoughtfully designed and well manufactured to be useful and durable. All up, a first class product at an exceptionally price.Read full review

Excellent Survival Knife
This Ultimate Bear Grylls fixed blade survival knife is definitely the one to go for out of this series of knifes, it's the best built product with a good strong blade, it does need a sharpen to get razor sharp, weight is good, handle is grippy. Good product at a good price.Read full review

Ultimate pro survival knife
I saw mixed reviews before buying the knife, however I have been very happy with it so far. I am glad I waited for this version with the full length tang and non serrated blade, as I think I would have been disappointed with these earlier models. Would certainly recommend this knife.Read full review
Bear Grylls Ultimate, Survival knife
With my my military and remote living experience I have had many knives over the years and for the money this is the best yet. Anyone wanting a solid, reliable survival knife need look no further as BG and Gerber have made a knife no other company can compete with at this stage! To get such a strong well made knife with Ferro rod and inbuilt sharpener in a sleek sturdy sheath for such a great price is truly satisfying!Read full review

Awesome knife, well designed and high quality product. Great job Gerber, Great job Bear Grylls.
Took knife out for an adventure. Cut, chopped, wittled various woods, hard and soft - product performs very well. Blade stood up to rigorous test and remained pristine. still no need to sharpen. Fire starting is easy and back of knife delivers easy shower of sparks. Great product and suprising for the price point. Would highly recommend.Read full review

Versatile, Practical A good all rounder!!!!
I havent used my knife yet however a friend who is an avid knife collector has one also. His comments on this particular knife were how versatile it is, a good all rounder, very practical and useful. That it certainly would get a person out of trouble if needed.
My friend was very envious of the price that I paid.
I ended up purchasing a knife each for both my sons.
I am a very happy camperRead full review

Nice quality, comfortable weight and good balance.
Had to wear in the friction fit in the sheath before it was reasonably easy to remove the knife from the sheath. But works fine now. The knife is a quality product. The whistle is not comfortable attached by the lanyard on the handle end in my opinion. Read full review
